1 starCAUTION Caution caution!!! When the cd matures if you believe they are out for your best interests think again. If you don't go back and resign a new cd you will get the 6 month smallest amount rate mine today on May 9, 2025 was 1.25% from 5%. They charged me over $700 dollars to get out of this cd.Review fromZaria P

Ive used FAIRWINDS for over 3 years. In January 2025, I accidentally used the wrong card to pay for something and I didnt realize until I checked and saw that I was charged a $35 overdraft fee. The item I purchased was $18 so I owed FAIRWINDS $53 in total for a mistake. I tried to get it resolved but no luck. I paid back little by little and my account was still unfortunately closed.Fairwinds Credit Union

Opened a business account 4 years ago which at the time they handled services in a timely manner and without issues. The past few months it has been issues where they stopped every transaction which they labeled as fraud which would require me to call in a few times a month to let them know that it's not fraud. I literally have the same transactions everyday. After waiting a minimum of 15 min every time I call to speak with someone all they do is transfer you to different departments to "correct" the issue and all they did was blame other departments and their vendors ******* These banks make millions off of each of there members while claiming that there here to serve the community, but continuously fail to take responsibility and I honestly see why people always say "people don't want to work anymore".Customer service is definitely horrible and there software and process is trash.Fairwinds Credit Union

I just recently applied for a loan with this Credit Union. They pull your Equifax credit report. Mind you there is nothing wrong with my credit report. I have a good score as well as I have no late payments, no charge offs, no collections and I was still not approved for a personal loan. All they did was send me an email mentioning that I didnt get approved because of limited credit experience, length of time credit established and high balances on unsecured loans and credit cards. Once again, there is nothing wrong with my credit report. All my order accounts that were closed. Im sure they saw that were all paid on time. I have seven accounts on there and five were closed, which were the ones paid on time and the two that are currently there are also paid on time. So now I have a hard inquiry on my credit report there is nothing wrong with my Equifax. I tried reaching out and I spoke with **** and all she did was resend me the same email of why I didnt get approved that was already sent to me. So I just wanted to help everybody else before you apply even though you have a good credit score and good credit report to be very careful when applying.Fairwinds Credit Union

I have been a member of FAIRWINDS for over 10 years and they are treating me like ****. I have never had an overdraft fee credit back maybe once or twice the entire time I’ve been a member and I had fraud on one of my accounts and it was clearly asked to stop payment on that charge and now they are refusing to credit back overdraft fees that are related to the fraud. I’m closing all of my accounts with FAIRWINDS and honestly this is the worst experience I’ve ever had in my life when it comes to customer service.Fairwinds Credit Union

This credit union was difficult to work with. The initially approved me for one of their products, then when I asked for a higher limit and they asked for more information, they denied me all together. There was no recourse and no warning that could be the outcome. It was also an annoying 3 week email battle to even get that resolution.
I recommend you stay away and go with any other option.Fairwinds Credit Union

I’m not sure why so many people have given this Credit Union bad reviews because it has been absolutely amazing for me so far. My only guess is that the only people who write reviews are those who have had negative experiences. I joined FAIRWINDS last year and it was my first time ever having a bank account (I just started college) They have made everything so smooth and easy for me and customer service is better than any service I’ve ever received anywhere. It almost seems too good to be true.Fairwinds Credit Union

5 starsAfter reading all other reviews I find it very hard to believe that people are having these issues with fairwinds at all. By the low number of them it is clear that it is a personal issue or a very rare instance. I have had nothing but great experiences in my 10 years with Fairwinds. They offer great savings rates and will help with financial decisions without having to wait long to talk to someone. My credit score has shot up substantially due to the help they they provide. On top of it, they offer a **** ********* credit card that outweighs the benefits of the giant credit card companies such as **** and ******* ***. More people need to give Fairwinds Credit Union a chance!Review fromDerek D

1 starDo not care about there customers..
We tried selling a truck to one of there customers and last minute they want to give a draft that is an antique way of doing business. The only one that suffered is there customer and the bad part this truck is how he makes his living. The banker helping him is a good guy those over his head is to blame just cowards and let’s someone else deliver the dirty details !!!Review fromSusan H

2 starsI have banked with FCU since 1979. The level of professionalism has tanked. There is a pervasive rudeness in a number of it's employees, from the bank manager, who acts annoyed, as if you are bothering her for business only she can conduct, to the pretentious fill-in clerk at the special services kiosk at the UCF.)
Some weeks ago I needed to get a credit card for my Dad as I am now his guardian, or so I thought I needed a credit card. I called up customer service who connected me to the local bank agent and was told that my POA on file was insuffienct to open a credit card and to go to the local branch to sign an affidavit and bring proof of "my second POA", even though I had already explained that the document was for Plenary Guardianship. So, I showed up and gave this document. When I asked about signing the affidavit, they told me it would be done after the legal department reviewed it, (a complete reversal of what I was told beforehand).
I went in a second time only to be told that the legal department sent it to the Risk Management Department, and then sneered at, as if I was some criminal, and told by the fill-in clerk, "We will have to see if you are even allowed to get a credit card." (The statement was reasonable, but not how it was said to me.) I asked again about signing the affadavit, and was told not yet. (Thanks for wasting my time.) Three weeks went by; no one contacted me.
So, I called the online customer support again, who told me that 1) no one had bothered to scan in the Plenary Guardianship Document at the local branch, and 2) that there were no notes regarding my wanting to open the credit card, or my visits. The customer support on the phone patiently guided me through things and said that Florida law prevents me from opening a credit card for my ward, but does allow a debit card to conduct his affairs. Now why couldn't the local branch employees have done the same, instead of giving off elitist airs and looking incompetent?
