I contacted Veteran Leak Detection to find a severe leak in our pool. Bob came to the house the day I contacted him, he got in the water and performed dye tests and charged $350.00 for the service. He reported there were leaks at two of the returns and a broken line beside the diving board that would require the pool deck to be opened up for the repair. He quoted $1,500.00 and said it would only take one day. He said he had insurance, so I asked for a copy.
The next day I received the quote, but no Insurance form. I tried contacting him about the insurance, but he went radio silent. After a week, I finally got through to him and he had excuse after excuse to why he hasn't sent it. He has personal dealings which I truly empathize, but he needs to communicate better.
Now 3 weeks after the leak detection, I put the ultimatum out to produce the insurance so we can move forward or I would look another company and to send my money back. Several days go by with no communication and I hear from him saying, "I am fully capable and ready to start tomorrow, do you still want me to send this over or not?". I told him to send it and I would get back to him early the following week to schedule the repair. Nothing came.
I contacted another company who performed pressure, vacuum, and dye tests. The new company found no leaks in the piping or the returns. They found a major leak at the ladder, one of the steps had a big crack in it.
Veteran Leak Detection not only failed to find the leak, they were going to charge $1,500.00 to rip up the concrete decking to fix a pipe that is not leaking. I contacted him again with this information and demanded our money back. He said he'd it back tomorrow morning. That was 5 days ago and of course, we have not a received a dime.
If you have a pool leak, I'd suggest you steer clear of this company.
