      I had them pick up my GC340 scooter for repair. I told them it was making noise in the area of the transaxle and the seat was very hard to remove. When they brought it back nothing was fixed. They also quoted me a price for the transaxle of $800.00. This is incorrect. This is a VA model and the transaxle is $400.00. The seat was still very hard to remove. Basically they charged me $185.00 for nothing.

      BBB Complaint Case # ********

      ******************************* called as he was having trouble with hie older GC-340 Golden Technologies Mobility Scooter; his main concern was noise coming from the transaxle.

      As promised, we picked the scooter up and brought it into our shop to be diagnosed. The transaxle is failing and needs to be replaced.

      In addition to checking the transaxle assembly we also rotated the tires, cleaned the axles on the transaxle, and tightened everything to reduce the noise as much as possible. In addition, per customer request, we try to make the seat easier to remove. This took two technicians to get it off. Once removed we cleaned and lubed the seat post. We the put it on and off several times by one person.

      When we returned the scooter, ********************** was upset at the quoted price of a new transaxle and claimed it was $300.00. We have included the Golden Technologies quote for $770.00. We indicated we would install a new motor/transaxle assembly for $800.00 including installation and re-delivery. The customer was still unable to remove the seat by himself, Our driver then tried and it came right off. We then offered to take it back to see if we could get the seat post better at no charge. He declined further service and rode off saying he would be calling his lawyer!
