      In August 2022, I and two colleagues enrolled in a nursing program at Modern Nursing Institute LLC. We received a curriculum and paid toward our tuition as discussed. Our first review course was taught by a professor, who was a doctor. We were also given modules to review and complete on Canva. The Florida nursing school scandal emerged months later. The school owner stated she was doing everything the right way and that we had nothing to worry about. She assured us that she does not sell degrees or licensures. We continued working on modules assigned to us. A few weeks pass and everything disappeared. The modules, the Zoom class links, the study and clinical group chats, everything. Multiple attempts were made to contact the owner. She told us that with everything brewing she couldn't let us continue. She agreed to refund us completely. Offered to pay us back in installments if possible. Currently, there have been no payments and she refuses to refund us. We are currently out of thousands of dollars as a collective. The school owner misrepresented her institution as legitimate and accredited. She failed to disclose to us that she was an intermediary working in conjunction with another school. Unfortunately for us, we only discovered these things after we were getting stone-walled and had little to no communication from the owner.
