An embarrassment to patient care. So bad, even staff at Orlando Health quietly recommend going elsewhere. This clinic prioritizes bureaucratic compliance over medical ethics, and it's frankly shameful. We arrived with a clear and urgent injury a dislocated shoulder and were willing to self-pay for immediate care. Instead, we were told it was illegal to treat my wife without a referral, simply because she has insurance. That is flat-out false. There is no law preventing someone from paying for their own care. The truth? Their internal insurance contract doesnt allow them to accept cash from insured patients a policy choice, not a legal barrier.Staff (particularly *******) tried to gaslight us, claiming this policy amounted to a criminal issue. If this is how dishonest and rigid they are over billing basics, its terrifying to think how that mindset affects actual clinical care.Even the ** staff recommend going elsewhere for orthopedic support rather than sending patients to this place. That says everything. Doctors working here should be ashamed of how far removed this practice is from the spirit of patient care.We were left without treatment, without options, and without support while my wife was in pain. If you value timely care, medical ethics, or basic human decency, do what Orlando Healths own employees quietly suggest: go somewhere else.

Hello.  Orlando Health is reviewing the complaint and the comments from the manager in the office that treated the patient.  I apologize for the delay, but any response has to go through Orlando Health.  Thank you and please allow us a bit more time to go through the Orlando Health review process.  Thank you.

I had an x-ray taken of my right knee in September 2024. I would like a copy of that x-ray, but Orlando Health/Jewett Orthopedic is doing everything they can to make it impossible for me to get my hands on a copy of that x-ray. Federal law stipulates that I have a right to my medical records. All of them.

Patient submitted a request for Medical Records on 11/14/2024. Patient received the Medical Records the same day however needed Radiology Images, which were not originally requested,in addition to the Medical Records that were received. Patient called Orlando Healths Medical ****************** on 11/14/2024 to request Radiology Images and asked to speak to a supervisor. Supervisor called the patient back a few hours later and assisted patient. The Radiology Images were delivered the patient same day as his initial request on 11/14/2024. Patient confirmed receipt of the Radiology Images.

HIPAA requires healthcare providers to release information to patients within 30 days of receipt of a records request, with a one time extension of 30 days for a total of 60 days.Orlando Health strives to provide requestors with records within 3-5 days max in general, and often releases records the same day the records are requested. Imaging CD's are also often completed same day especially if the patient is in the office or lets us know there is an urgent need.

      Better Business Bureau:

      Medical revords are medical records

From the patient's point-of-view, x-rays are medical records.  I made it known frim the beginning I wanted my x-rays.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

      Sincerely,

I e-mailed Jewitt Orthopedics(where I had previously had excellent care) to see if any doctor did trigger point injections. I was phoned back and told that Dr. ************ did trigger points and I made an appointment within one week or so. I was advised that I would not have the trigger point injections the first visit but must have a consultation with the Doctor ****** I saw ************************** and he advised me that I would be called by the scheduler within 24 hours with an appointment to come for the injections. My neck and shoulder were very sore so I asked him how long it would be. He told me, it was his first day at Jewitt and he had only seen 4 patients and his schedule was wide open so "not long". I waited 48 hours and then phoned to speak to the scheduler. I was not permitted to speak to the scheduler and told I would be called back within 24 hours. Despite leaving three messages, I have never been called back and will have to make an appointment with another doctor.
