I hired this company in May of 2024 to build a porch. The company sent a *** to the house to look at the location where the porch will be installed. He came, measure the area, we discussed what I wanted and all was fine. He eventually talked to his boss who then sent me an estimate for $12000. I attempted to bargain with them but he would not budge, so eventually I agreed to have the project done for the the $12000. He sent the *** with a contract and asked me to put 25% down and the contract says no refund after 3 days, which I thought was very strange. I wrote a check for $3000 and gave it to him. I should have been more careful as the contract did not states any definitive dates that they would start the project, but the *** did say that typically it could take 2 to 3 months to get things started. After I signed the contract and gave them the deposit, they pretty much disappear. After not hearing from them for at least a month, I reached out to find out what was going on and they responded by telling me "they will let me know when they have more to talk to me about". I thought that was strange that I hired them and then there was no communication and when I reached out the tone was different. It took them almost 2 months to send me the design and I had to reach out to ask for it and I sort of get excuses such as he was on vacation, school started and he had to take time off for his children etc. By month 3, they finally got the permit. They pretty refused to let me know when they would start building the Porch. On 9/16/24, I received a call and say that they were coming to start working at 10:30 after hanging up the phone, I receive a text saying that they would come the next day on 9/17/24 between 7-8 am. They never showed up, they never call to tell me why they didn't show up. I didn't receive an email about what's going on and what the plan is. They technically took my deposit, refuse to communicate with me and decided not to come and do the work.

    Good ********************************* style="outline: none !important;">
I wish you would have reached out to us prior to submitting this complaint so we could have resolved your concerns in a more professional manner. Now that you have submitted your side, we must offer our side.

After meeting with our Estimator and going over the provided Contract/Proposal you willingly and readily signed with us on 6/14/24, not May of 2024 as stated. You were informed at the time of signing the contract, as are all of our customers, that the Permit takes approximately 3 months as that is the time it takes for Engineered Drawings and Building Permit to be prepared. During this time, you stated that I had "excuses" of vacation time w/ my family and school starting for my children and yes, all those events were TRUE. I am a Family man and this a Family Owned and Operated Business that you chose to hire. Once the Permit was available, it was posted on your property after 10 weeks from signed contract, prior to commencement of work.

At that time, we scheduled a pre-construction meeting w/ our concrete crew, which had then expressed their concerns of the existing cut-down tree ***** 6' in circumference, which was in the vicinity of where the new concrete slab would be prepped and installed, of possibly having a very large root system under the existing wood deck. This would not be revealed until removal of wood deck. We informed you of this possibility, in which you would then be responsible to have the root system removed prior to concrete being installed. Your response was, " I am not willing to spend an extra dime on this project".
At this time, we suspended the progress of the project due to your refusal to have the possible root system removed.

We will be sending you a check for the refund of your deposit (minus the cost for Engineered Drawings and Building Permit).

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused, and we wish you the best of luck.
