  My wife and I are very pleased with the work that DBA Modern Arborist (AKA Jonathan Stirman Tree Service) did on our property earlier this week. This work was to remove a 40-year-old ****** oak that was very near to our house and thoroughly grind the large ***** and its adjacent root pattern. This 80-foot-tall tree that I had planted in 1988 had been badly mis-trimmed in 2019 by another tree service who had left it quite top-heavy and lopsided and a threat to my nearby house. A few days before the event, Mr. ********************** arranged for **** to make sure that no buried power lines would be affected by the ***** grinding: good thought! On tree cutting-down day Mr. ********************** worked from 8 AM until dark with his ground crew, crane operator, and cherry picker tree-top ****** to carefully cut down the tree, limb by limb. The quite skilled crane operator threaded about twenty 40-foot-long limbs on their journey from the tree, then past a nearby streetlight, and then down to the side of the street for the ground crew to reduce. After the 4-foot diameter trunk was similarly removed with the crane, the ***** grinder man arrived to reduce the ***** and surrounding root pattern to ground level with his 110 horsepower Vermeer monster grinder. By late afternoon a grapple truck arrived to take away the enormous pile of limbs, branches, and twigs. And ********************************* removed the large trunk and the huge mound of ***** grindings with their front loader, trucks and trailers. Early the next day Mr. ********************** returned with his ground crew and ***** grinder colleague to further grind the ***** and nearby large roots and clean up all remaining debris. In summary, Mr. ********************** led a very well-organized crew of very skilled people who removed this large oak, took away all debris, did not damage my sidewalk or my neighbor's adjacent driveway, and did not even bend a tender branch on any of my nearby shrubbery. My wife and I highly recommend DBA Modern Arborist.
