DO NOT USE A Best Air and Heat of Palm Bay. They use shady business practices, and have below average quality technicians. Also, I don't know what the average markup on parts is in the AC industry, but OVER 300% seems excessive to me. They installed the units in my home (prior to my purchase of it), this is why I called them in the first place. First time they came out to flush my drain lines, the guy didn't do it correctly and they had to come back and do it a 2nd time. Seems like a fairly straightforward issue for a tech to handle correctly the first time. And only $216, seems legit, right? This last time (and it will be the last time, they're not welcome back on my property) they overtly overlooked an issue in order to make more money. I have 2 AC units right next to one another. One stopped working. When they came out they found that ants had shorted a part. So they replaced the part and left. I was not home at the time to provide some common sense. If one is full of ants, the other likely is as well. But since "it was working at the time", they didn't unscrew the 2 screws to the access panel to check. 4 days later, yes, the other one went out for the exact same reason. Called and told the office person I was happy to pay for parts but did not want to pay another service charge as it should have been looked at first time around. They agreed on the phone that yes, that was reasonable. Again, I was not home when they came and the owner bullied my son into paying the service fee again. They also tried to tell me that my warranty was up in a few months, when I checked with the manufacturer I was told I still have over 6 years left on my warranty. Shady shady shady. There's plenty of other honorable AC companies to choose from so take your pick from anyone but A Best Air and Heat.

Hello David, thank you for taking the time to the leave a review. The first visit with a clogged drain line, the technician cleared the drain line but did not pressure blow it out which we sent another tech back out to rectify the issue. We agree it should have been done properly the 1st time, Now as for the issue yesterday as we discussed when you initially called about 1 of your units not working properly the technician come out and fixed the issue and the other unit was working properly at the time so there was no need to diagnose or repair something that was working correctly. Yesterday, when you called we discussed the issue and you mentioned having the service call fee waived but due to it being a separate unit and the unit not being broken last time the service call fee still applied which was explained when you called back and was very rude about the situation. I tried to explain the service call applied when a technician has to go out to diagnosis a system for repair and this was a separate unit needing repair. As for your warranty I do not recall a conversation about a warranty during the call nor the visit at your home so I'm not sure where you got the information from. And your son is actually the one who agreed to the service call fee stating and I quote " I know how my dad can be the amount due is fine he can just be difficult at times".

Horrible customer service! We had A Best install 3 different units at 3 different houses over the last 10 years. No problems until this year. Three service calls this year (unit is less than 2 years old). At one service call (tune up), I was given a "Veteran's discount" which was $20 more than the regular posted price. Today, I called because the thermostat was not working. The person at A Best said we have a 10 warranty on the unit. I specifically asked about the thermostat which she said was covered. The technician said it wasn't covered. He also said the unit would run without batteries, which it won't. As I tried to get him to explain the discrepancies, he suddenly became very rude and obnoxious and stomped out. I contacted the A Best office and asked for the owner's name and number. He called me, after his people gave their side, and thoroughly berated me, refusing to let me talk, and repeating the "not covered under warranty" line. When he finally stopped talking, I told him my complaint was not about the warranty, but about the bad information his office and the tech gave me, and the rudeness of his tech. I mentioned that my wife, who is Asian, heard everything, and that it seemed his tech had a problem with her. He hung up on me. I would encourage anyone considering using this company to read my remarks.

Hello Mr *****, Once again I am very sorry that this last visit with us ended the way it did but please allow me to clear a few things up on this matter. When you first called our company in regards to the tune up ( which is a maintenance check up for the whole unit) we were running a special for $99.00 they are normally 129.95 a tune up is not a service call which we explained when you requested a $20 refund because you wanted a tune up for a service call price ( a service call is when your system is not working properly and needs to be repaired). Secondly, when you called this time to schedule a service call due to your ac not working correctly and your thermostat being blank, you asked about your warranty. In which I told you you do have a 10 year manufacturer parts warranty and if a manufacture part is the issue to your problem it will be covered I let you know in our data base it shows your system being 2 years old so you also did not have a labor warranty. When our technician arrived and diagnosed your problem the technician also explained to you a thermostat is an accessory and not a unit part in which you became very unreasonable and rude to the technician because you did not want to pay for something. And after you used profanity at the technician and was being rude, he advised you he did not have to deal with being talked to that way and left. You then called the office very rudely about the situation I provided you with the owners name and phone number. I also then called the owner to the him know there was an issue with a customer and he then wanted to reach out to you to see what was going on. You were very rude to him as well and threatened to file complaints for discrimination once he also told you there was no warranty for a thermostat and our policy and the manufactures policy. You disconnected the call on him as well. And as for the remark for you wife ( who you mentioned is asian ) you believe the technician had a problem with her. He himself is a POC so we do not believe by any means that was the case. It was simply because of how you yourself was speaking with to him. We are very sorry you have tried to spread misinformation about this situation due to it not going in your favor.

I would expect the A Best response to be no different. My wife was observing the whole event and can back up everything I said. Oh, and anyone with access to the ******** website can read the comments others made about A Best, all negative. After 10 years at 3 different locations, they have lost a loyal customer, and apparently, I am not the first.
