I made an appointment with Aqua Dermatology (Waters Edge Dermatology), located at *************************************** Phone ************* for a cosmetic procedure with Keriea Bean APRN. This appointment was made for April 9, 2025 at 11:00. I made a deposit of $625.00 for good faith leaving a balance of $775.00 to be paid after the procedure.Unfortunately, on Sunday, April 6, 2025,I fell injuring my back, shoulder and left knee. I called on Monday morning at 9:30 am April 7, 2025, to cancel this appointment. I explained in detail my reason for cancellation and told them I would call and reschedule I was at no time informed that I would forfeit this deposit and upon reading all documentation and receipts, I find no mention of this fact.I spoke with the Office Manager who told me it was protocol to keep the deposit. When I called to make another appointment for this procedure, this is the first time I knew of this protocol.I went to the bank, who agreed this was not proper business ethics, ***** credited my account ********* have now received a billing for $775.00 for the remainder of a procedure I never received. I have been a patient of a dermatologist with this firm for at least 10+ years with a Dr. ********* with whom I have an excellent rapport and really hate to not go to him for suspicious mole removal. Please advise me if you can reason with this dermatology firm and wipe this debt from my account. I have a Credit rating of around 820 and certainly do not want to jeopardize this standing. We are not rich people and the money to pay for this procedure was coming from my savings account. This is causing me great stress as I am 80 years old and wonder if this firm thinks it can do this to an older senior citizen.I look forward to your reply and hope you can help me in this matter. Sincerely,***** M ******* ************
