Mr. ********** hired Insight on August 9, 2024, for representation with the ************************ for a balance in the amount of $81,364.85. Our contract states our clients must remain current on their estimated tax deposits from the date of our contract forward. The *** will not entertain an Offer in Compromise if a taxpayer is not current on their estimated tax deposits. Mr. ************ account was assigned to a Revenue Officer. The assigned Revenue Officer issued levies due to the lack of compliance on Mr. ************ account. Although Mr. ********** was not able to pay his current taxes so his Offer in Compromise could be submitted, Insight did everything we could to bring resolution to Mr. ************ account. ********************** negotiated Mr. ************ account into Currently Not Collectable Status and negotiated the release of all levies. A copy of Mr. ************ contract with Insight is attached for reference along with the acceptance letter from ************************ Officer regarding his account being placed in Currently Not Collectable Status. Our contract states we do not issue refunds, which is attached. Further, we put more than 49 hours of work into Mr. ************ account. Our contract also states our client's need to pay their current taxes going forward. We did everything we could to help Mr. ********** and were more than accommodating even with his lack of compliance. The only thing he needs to do now is remain in compliance going forward. We will not be issuing a refund.Customer Answer

I contacted Insight Financial Solutions, LLC because I needed help with IRS tax issues for 2021. They suggested that they could get me qualified for inability to pay status and asked for returns showing my current "payment plan" with the *** and then proceeded to push that paperwork through their system as though it was their work all the while racking up expenses. When I protested asking for their promise of noncollectable status they then said they would be required to file my 2023 return which they charged for but did not produce.Business Response

*** ****** hired Insight on May 31, 2024, for representation with the *** for tax period 2021. *** ****** contracted Insight for an installment agreement, to prepare his 2023 return, and to submit a penalty abatement.
Insight submitted and successfully negotiated the removal of *** ******** penalties in the amount of $13,901.94 on tax period 2021. Insight did prepare and forward *** ******** 2023 return based on the information he provided to Insight. Insight reviewed *** ******** financial statement with him to determine his ability to make a monthly payment to the ***. At this point we found out all of *** ******** income was not being reported to the ***. We prepared *** ******** financial statement reporting all of his income and determined *** ****** qualified for Currently Not Collectible Status and he also qualified for an Offer in Compromise. Insight discussed *** ******** options with him, advising we can place his account into Currently Not Collectible Status, or we could prepare an Offer in Compromise. Insight explained to *** ****** if he wanted to move forward with the Offer, we would need to forward a new contract, and a new fee would be required for the different resolution strategy. *** ****** contacted Insight the following day and asked that his file be closed and forwarded to him. Insight forwarded *** ******** file to him per his request.
Insight completed *** ******** contract in its entirety. I have attached a copy of *** ******** signed contract with Insight. I also attached *** ******** account transcript from the *** showing his penalties that were removed due to our negotiations on his behalf.
We billed ***** hours on *** ******** account and his account closed negative $184.00. Further, our contract clearly states our fees are non-refundable. Therefore, we will not be issuing a refund to *** ******.

I hired them to file my taxes in 2017 and every year since. They have been paid directly from my bank from auto withdrawal and I just made my last payment of 300.00 towards my 4000.00 charge. The CEO sent me an email asking for an additional 3950.00 and I told the receptionist not to make any further withdrawals since I had already paid and asked to leave a message with my agent. I received another email from the boss telling me that since I was refusing to pay that my appointment was canceled and they would be pulling my paperwork from the agent. I owe the IRS money and they have continually told me that they would work with the IRS to reduce my debt as I could not afford to pay 30.000 plus an additional 10.000 in back taxes. I was trying to make payments to the IRS but they never got to that. I now have a lein on my home and no way to get my information from them. Years ago, when they called me, it was a cold call and I was interested only because they were local. I thought that it would be better to do business with a local company, especially when I'm dealing with the IRS. I am still in the same position I was and still owe all this money. They have never gotten to the point where they talked to the IRS and made arrangements for me to even have the envelopes to make the payments. Now they will not speak to me without another $3900. I don't know what recourse I have, but I definitely don't want other people to get caught in this trap. I have been paying them every year faithfully and I still have taxes to pay that they have not given me the information on. I have asked over and over again because I need to make this right. I have the emails they have sent me and can print them but do not know how to upload emails.Business Response

Ms. ****** hired Insight March 4, 2019. The Internal Revenue Service filed a tax lien on December 21, 2018, which Ms. ****** was aware of the lien being filed when she hired Insight. Insight has filed Ms. ******'s tax returns for tax periods 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021. Ms. ****** owed additional liability for each tax period, except for 2020. Insight reviewed Ms. ******'s financial information, contacted the Internal Revenue Service, and negotiated her account into a Currently Not Collectible Status with the Internal Revenue Service, which means she doesn't need to make a payment at all. Once Ms. ******'s 2021 tax return was prepared, and a new balance was accrued, Ms. ****** was quoted to renegotiate resolution on her account. When a taxpayer accrues additional liability, an installment agreement or Currently Not Collectible Status will have to be renegotiated as the new liability will default any prior agreement with the Internal Revenue Service. This was explained to Ms. ******. Insight also discussed the taxpayers tax lien. Insight explained the lien was filed prior to hiring us and additional liens are filed on new tax periods when new liability is accrued. It was further explained to Ms. ******, an installment agreement to full pay can be established over a period of 60 months, once her balance is under $25,000.00, (current balance is $37,000.00) and she is current on her current year tax deposits, a lien discharge can be submitted to the Internal Revenue Service. The quote for renegotiating her resolution would still be necessary as Insight has to renegotiate with the Internal Revenue Service due to the additional balance on tax period 2021, regardless of the resolution strategy. Ms. ****** decided she would contact the Internal Revenue Service on her own. The phone number to the Collections Division of the Internal Revenue Service was provided per her request. Attached is Ms. ******'s contract, showing the date she hired Insight, a copy of her account transcript, showing the date the tax lien was filed, and her project summary that shows all work that has been completed on her behalf. Ms. ****** has paid Insight a total of $5,500.00 since December 2019; Insight has billed $12,637.00.
