We filed an insurance claim for less than 15 minutes of water flowing from commode plumbing and were given Servpro of Bay County as an option to mitigate the damage. We chose them because of the brand being well-known. The mitigation for the damage that we had would typically take 5 - 7 days to complete. On the 16th day of mitigation we complained to the project manager that the progress was not acceptable. Two days later the two men were tearing out the upstairs master shower tile. They shut the water to the whole house off at the street while working. When they finished for the day they turned the water to the house back on without going back inside the house. We were not living in the home during the demo but I went by to check on the progress when I got back in town that evening. When I walked into the house water was pouring from the upstairs shower that was left on when they were doing the demo work. We had to file a second claim for this damage as it was much more extensive.
There aren't enough characters left to describe what we experienced for 8 months before we could move back into our home. It has been 2 years and we are over $17K out of pocket for their damage and have spent over $3K in attorney fees attempting to get Servpro to be responsible for their negligence.
We all make mistakes. It is part of life and business. But, negligence without responsibility is just bad business.
I have pictures, videos, documents, emails, and invoices to support this review.
