      On August 15, 2024, I visited the Tallahassee Orthopedic Clinic in Panama City, FL because I had fractured my left foot. I was informed that as a self-pay client, it would be $350 for an office visit that included x-rays. I had already had x-rays at Access Point Walk-in Clinic and had brought the CD provided. However, if they were not going to charge me for additional X-rays, then I consented to having them done. During my visit, I was diagnosed as having a fracture through X-ray examination and was informed that due to good blood flow to the area, no cast would be required. Rather than performing a thorough examination of my foot which I believe would have consisted of palpation, range of motion testing, etc., the doctor stated that he would not "torture me with an exam" given the known fracture shown on the x-rays. His recommended treatment plan consisted of purchasing a hard plastic shoe from their in-office store and returning in six weeks to assess healing. He did not provide any further fracture care. He was in the room for 5 minutes or less. In my view, the level of service I received was a normal office visit that included writing a prescription. It was not comprehensive care and treatment I would expect to be charged extra for. I agreed only to an office visit with x-rays and purchasing a shoe. I paid for the office visit and x-rays, and I purchased the shoe for $20. I believe this should be the extent of my financial obligations to TOC. Fracture care would have included a cast. I did not get a cast. Neither did they inform me of any additional charges or ask if I wanted fracture care. I did not consent to having any fracture care and none was offered. Yet they are billing me for an additional $610 for fracture care that I did not receive. I have asked them to remove this amount from my account, but they have ignored me.
