On 12/18/2023 we paid for moving services. Our contract was $33,166.17. The business processed 2 transactions duplicating a credit card charge of $9,000. The vendor confirmed duplicate charges via text messages and ensured payment was being remitted via check. After sometime the charge was disputed with the credit card company. While acknowledging the duplicate charge on 5/6/2024 we were notified that the vendor is refusing to refund the payment. We have clear communications and records indicating the value charged clearly in excess of the counteract value by $9,000.

I have provided the details of the problem under the "Desired Settlement" section in detail. Bottom line, after a awful moving experience during our move I called ***************************** (Owner) to share my complaints about his moving service. He told me that he would reimburse me $400 which is what I had to pay out of pocket for a second moving truck (which I had to run and go rent from **Haul during the move) due to his truck not being large enough for the move. ****** said he would reimburse me the $400 after my "$4000" check cleared. That check was paid accordance to the contract I signed for his company to move me to my new home. Items were broken, his driver smoked in the **Haul truck I rented and left his lighter in it and also left debris in the back of the **Haul truck that I rented. After all of this, I should ask for a full refund of the $4000 I paid. ****** has not returned any of my messages requesting he tell me when if he sent me the $400 check as promised. To date, after several weeks, no response and no check.
