      I had a life event occur after I signed the contract for installation with Auxiliary Power Systems. I notified the company of the event 2 1/2 weeks prior to the installation and requested that installation be postponed. Since that time my situation has not improved and requested a refund of my deposit. ($1200). I was told that I signed the contract stating that I had 3 days to cancel. All of this is correct, but 3 days from signing the contract I had no ideal that things would change in our lives. It seems extreme to keep $1200 for a deposit for no services rendered. Can you not at least let me use the $1200 towards the purchase of portable unit? Needless to say I will not be considering this company for any of our future needs.

      This is first I have seen of this complaint.  Apologies for late response but it was directed to FL BBB when customer is in Alabama and so is our main office (Remlap). The contract copy was provided as part of his complaint and clearly states the standard business practice of giving 3 days for cancellation.  Customers are made aware of this clause at the time they sign.  Customer signed on 9-27-24 and on 10-9-24 (12 days later) advised us of his family situation but would let us know later if he decided to cancel.  On 10-16-24 (20 days after signing) we set the install date and called to confirm with customer.  That is when customer advised they were not going forward & demanded a refund of the deposit.  Our sincere apologies that a life event occurred but we also have costs incurred.

      I am rejecting this response because:


      I do not accept that Auxillary Power occurred $1280 of cost when no services were provided. I once again state that I understand what the contract states about cancellation, but I am quite sure if the proverbial shoe was on the other foot your response would be different.
