On 22 Jun 2023 I was at Seville (boom boom room I believe it is called) when a verbal altercation occurred in the area by the stage over on the side where the pool tables are. My back was turned, so I didn't completely know what was going on until a buddy of mine tapped me on the shoulder. Nevertheless, when I turned around a guy was saying something and I couldn't hear him, then security approached telling me and my buddy to leave. I got upset because I wasn't involved, and I got verbal to the other party as they taunted us, but I complied with security. The cop from outside came in also and escorted us out with security. They did not even ask us what happened or anything, nor did they approach the other party who started it. Fast forward, 23 Jun 2023, I go to enter Seville and the cop who escorted us out, told me that if I cross the door threshold that I would be arrested for trespassing and that I was banded for a year. As a member, and to not have even initiated or got to tell my side of the story, I believe that is absurd and very unfair discriminatory practice of banning someone from your establishment. During the altercation in the club, neither party even physically touched one another, and the establishment didn't even review camera video footage nor did they even escort the other parties involved out of the nightclub either. I frequent Seville quite often and as a retired military professional veteran, I was completely taken away by this ordeal. I am content with never stepping foot in the establishment, however, I was falsely accused and banned for nothing. To prevent future incidents, there needs to be awareness brought about to identify unjust or prejudicial distinctions between incidents, whereas it is fair and just when you ban patrons from your establishment.

      Business Response

In response to  complaint #20236252 made by Antonio **** on 6/26/2023,  we are truly concerned about our guests experience while visiting our business.  I have researched with my management and the Pensacola Police officer who was present and witnessed the events that led up to Mr. ****** removal from our property and his attempt to come in the following night.    Seville staff were alerted that a female customer had been shoved near the dance floor in Phineas Phoggs.   Upon their investigation,  they concluded that one gentleman bumped into another and the person who got bumped into shoved the gentleman which then he fell into a female bystander.    Our staff arrived immediately to dissipate what was probably going to be a fight between the two males that were involved.   We had no eye witnesses, so we required both parties to leave for the night.   Mr. **** and his friend refused to leave so Officer *******, an officer working onsite from the Pensacola Police Department was summoned to help remove them from the property.   Officer ******* said that Mr. **** and his male friend that he was with were very reluctant to leave and uncooperative.   They eventually made their way outside and proceeded to be argumentative and verbally combative with my management and the police officers.   My manager then proceeded to give them a one year trespass since they continued to show signs of aggression and that one of the two males had been removed from the property weeks earlier for another altercation.   We have little tolerance for guests that start fights and cause problems for our guest and employees.   Officer ******* said one of the two men drove by later and flipped him off.

The very next night,  Officer *******,  who was working for Seville Quarter again,  witnessed one of the two male gentleman in line waiting to gain entrance.  He proceeded to tell him that he had a trespass warning and that if he attempted to enter the property,  he would be arrested.  The gentleman left without any need for further action.    This is all we know about what transpired and led to the complaint against my company.   It is our responsibility to provide a safe environment for our guest and staff and we were within our rights to have these guest removed for their actions.   We exercise this option only when we feel it is necessary because we are in the business of building customer loyalty and continued business.   I'm sorry that Mr. **** feels he was not treated fairly but our actions are always consistent in how we treat all of guest,  regardless of their gender, color, religion, race,  etc.

      Sincerely,

      Douglas ********

      Owner, Seville Quarter

      Complaint: 20236254

I am rejecting this response because: That is untrue...we were not refusing to leave and the only reason we were questioning us being thrown out was because your security kicked us out and not the other party that was involved as well. I do not recall no one physically being touched (bumped etc) except for the other guy physically touching my buddy whom I was with, nor do I know of any previous incidents of anyone being thrown out or what happened after I left that night. Nevertheless, we were not combative, and the video should show that we were trying to tell you guys that it was not us who initiated anything and why was it that you guys didn't get our side? or have the other party removed as well? Plain and simple. This response sounds like a display of an institutional prejudicial discrimination case between the guy I was with and your security staff and/or officer ******* for whatever past reasons and I was being banned by association which in itself, is unfair, and indirect treatment of certain members within a group. So, for those reasons, I reject this response.

      Sincerely,

      Antonio ****
