This business also deals with tenant applications for new rentals. In this very tight rental market, timing is of the essence. In the case of MyHomeSpot (MHS) they posted a new rental and I scheduled a viewing early that morning. Liking the rental, me and my gf both filled out an application later that day. MHS was even nice enough to walk my gf through the application process. Only to hear the lady (Jennifer) state to my gf, after I finished my application, that the rental from this morning was already given away. The fact that a company will take your application fee (which is nonrefundable) and then tell you that the rental has been rented out already is simply criminal. While my gf was updated on this matter, my application never received any feedback on this rental. I reached out to them for feedback, after having to push hard to speak to the owner I received his email address (they would have preferred to forward it to him). I have sent multiple emails over the last month without any response. Hence my complaint here on the BBB site.

I'm familiar with your version of the process and confirmed that you did not desire to reserve the property as a part of your application. We include and promote the reservation process due to demand and we have a history of approved applications not following through with a rental. We make it known that a property is available until or unless it is reserved (not just an application for tenancy). An application is a qualification to lease any and all properties and the reservation is for a specific property.

Would really like to see the proof that "I did not have the desire to reserve the property" when the application never received feedback.

    These are the facts:
I viewed the rental in the morning, gf entered her application and called to get help filling it out, I filled out my application once she submitted hers, gf called immediately after to confirm they were linked only to hear "this rental was reserved earlier today". This information was provided by the same lady who helped her fill out the application. Why would she not have told her that filling out an application was futile as the property was "already reserved"??

It was never explained if the process is to pay your application fee and immediately put down a deposit before the application is even approved. With all other rentals, it has been standard practice to wait and hear back if the application is approved before you can put down any deposit.

This all left a very bad taste in my mouth in witnessing someone not acting out of good faith. She should have given us the heads-up that the property was already "reserved" prior to us filling out the application and taking our money.
