    James ********* completed my 2022 tax returns in 10/2023. I paid him $250. Upon completing the work and while I was still in his office, he advised me there was a discrepancy in my 2021 return and a $300 deduction had not been taken. He agreed to amend the return for an additional $100 and indicated it would be completed shortly after 10/15/23. When I didn’t receive the amended return, I left him 2 messages after the 15th, and he didn’t return my calls. I followed up with an email giving him until 11/4/23 to complete the return or refund my $100. He has never responded or completed the work. He did not itemize the charges that went on my debit card, so I can only document the total of $350.

    Since we were at a 2022 tax filing deadline and we did not have a deadline for the amended return for 2021, I told Mr. *********** to give me some time to complete the amended return.  I went on an international trip that was planned over six months prior and was unable to return his phone calls, however I did have my office manager, Russell Henley, reach out to Mr. *********** to make arrangements.  Mr. *********** is welcome to come by for a full refund. If he will contact our office to advise when he come by we will have his refund waiting for him.

    Better Business Bureau:

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 20933091, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I did receive a message from Russell his office manager  after I filed my complaint, but he didn’t indicate the purpose of his call. I will arrange to get the refund I am owed. If Mr. ********* had intended to do the work he was paid for, he had plenty of time to respond to my three messages advising me exactly when he would complete the work.
