I signed up for *** gym when they were selling memberships before the gym opened. I was told that if I refer people to the gym, I would get 5$ off my monthly fee forever per person I referred. I believe I referred 3 or 4 people to sign up which would bring my membership down to $50-$55. When the gym finally opened, they were charging me $75 a month. I complained to the guy that set my account up saying you told me xyz, in which I worked really hard W HIM to get my friends to sign up with me, and he acted like that wasn't the case. This went on for MONTHS. I over paid a lot of money, I wanted a refund but was told that it would take 30+ days to receive it, so I said okay just put it towards my next months bill. Finally they got it to $55, then this past year they raised it to $65 a month. I believe my contract grandfathers me in to the price I signed up with. I also am tired of putting the money THEY are over charging me for, towards next month. I want it corrected. Also, I was on a medical freeze recently and was overcharged $87.70. It has been over 2.5 months and I have still not received my refund. Please help this is ridiculous.Initial Complaint

UFC Fit is still charging my card twice this month after requesting cancellation twice. The last time was a month ago in writing with the contract attached so there was no confusion.Initial Complaint

Hello, I began a membership with the gym in October 2022 and subsequently had to pause my membership status due to unforeseen circumstances. I was advised that my pause would be good for up to a year, however, payments resumed in June unbeknownst to me which resulted in an account overdraft.I reached out directly to the gym for help and was told that there was nothing that could be done to reverse the transaction made on my account. I have since reached out to gyms general manager to ask for some type of resolution, and was again met with no assistance. My last email to him went unanswered.Customer Answer

My partner and I were interested in a *** Fit membership and requested to do the free trial. After over 2 hours of pressuring us, the sales person finally got my partner to agree to TRY a membership, telling us that we could cancel no problem if we were t satisfied due to it not being a yearly contract type thing. After the trial (3 days) we decided we werent interested and asked to cancel. This is when we began to get conflicting information. Weve called, emailed the manager (*************************) spoke to staff (******) in person, and DMed via social media and theyre STILL charging us 3 months later. Weve had our bank to chargebacks and the charges keep coming in each month still. We have pictures of the computer screen directly from the *** club PROVING the cancellation. Were now at over $850 worth of fraudulent charges and still no response from *** on fixing this. Pictures have been included, bank reports have been saved and an attorney will be our next step. This situation is emotionally draining and creating undue anxiety and stress.Initial Complaint

I was hoping that you could assist me with regard to the *** gym, Plantation, ** location, that presold memberships and whose staff provided false claims, misrepresented benefits and deceptive communication. Upon arriving at the gym for the first time (April 30, 2022) when it was finally open following months of grossly misrepresented opening dates, I learned that I was deceived in what amenities were included. I requested a refund of my prepaid membership, which the manager agreed to refund. To date (almost 4 months later), I haven't received my refund despite numerous requests and false confirmations. Below is an overview of my experience. My hope is that the BBB will assist with my refund resolution and also help prevent further grievances caused by this business. In Nov. 2021, I paid in full for a 3 year membership to the *** gym that I was told would open in one month- Dec 2021. The gym did not open in Dec, and after several more misleading dates and months of delays, the gym opened in late April, 2022. Upon arriving for the first time, I learned that I was deceived about some details of my membership. I immediately spoke to the ************************, and gave him details and names so that the issue could be resolved. ****** response was and that is why ****** is no longer the manager. This lack of integrity and honesty from this companys management continued throughout my experience. I requested the cancellation and full refund to manager ***** and he confirmed that he would do it that day (April 30, 2022). I contacted the *** location many times on the status of my refund. I was redirected to the refund person *****, who also confirmed the refund was processed although still not received. Several more weeks- I contact the Regional Manager, who confirmed the refund was submitted and flagged urgent. I have documentation of my communications. Going on four months later and I have not received my refund of $640.93. This is a dishonest and deceptive company.Initial Complaint

Signed up for gym membership June 2021 $190.46. Was told would open soon It didnt open till last month. Spoke with **** a sales rep, who told me not to worry he would deal with the refund and for the problem he would offer a lower rate $107 month, was billed April 29th. Then charged again may 1st $130.46 and again on may 5th for $107 . A total of $543.92 This gym that just opened charged my card and refuses to address my complaint and refund. employees respond with a sales text, once I mentioned the refund, everyone stops communicating back. ****** review has similar experiences with other potential members.
