    We purchased a custom-made dining room hutch from Canary Services in February 2024; the piece was installed some weeks later. We were very pleased with the hutch. However, during the installation, Mrs. ****** mentioned seeing some sawdust, which the installer attributed to fabrication residue.We left our condo in March 2024 and returned in November 2024. Upon inspection, we found a significant amount of what looked like sawdust in each of the drawers and on the shelves of the right tower of the hutch. We immediately called and sent photos to ***** *******, our contact and one of the owners of Canary Services, who denied any responsibility. We called Terminix, which diagnosed the issue as powderpost beetles, an infestation that the Terminix inspector had not seen in ***************, where we reside during the winter, in the decade hed been working in the Village. The Terminix inspector conducted a thorough inspection of the condo and found no other evidence of insect infestation.Both the Terminix inspector and technician felt confident that the only source of this infestation, which still continues despite 3 Terminix treatments, was the dining room hutch supplied by Canary Services.We had originally asked for reimbursement of our insect removal contract of $1462. But having been ignored in our initial telephone contact and on not receiving any response to an email and a letter, we are asking for full payment of our outlays, viz. $7049.08.A more complete statement with supporting documents is added below.
