I had a TERRIBLE experience and am now out thousands of dollars. We used guardian ***** for our home inspection, where they missed items and within a week our bedroom was flooded due to a faulty bathtub. We also used Wise Move Home inspections and worked with *********************** for a seawall and boat lift inspection (wasn't necessary but we wanted to be super thorough). We were informed there was about $250 worth of work on the boat lift to do, and told there was a permit found in 2001.Fast forward a few months and we are now pursuing legal recourse against the seller of the house because when we went to put our boat on the lift (which is far under the rated weight **** the lift bent and is essentially destroyed. Doing further research we learned the boat lift actually is NOT permitted, nor is it up to code.... When I called **** the response was basically "yeah I probably should have worded the permitting part differently"... really?? What is the point of an inspector that doesn't inform the client the boat lift is not usable, not up to code, and not permitted??Anyway, I feel completed screwed by this company. We've paid probably over 20k since purchasing the home only a few months ago on issues that really should have been caught and disclosed to us during the inspection.I sincerely believe you should not use this company, and if you choose to, realllly question the report and test the items they say they tested. Also if they mention anything about permits... double check that your inspector is correct, because mine wasn't. The attitude that he'll just change the language on the permit section of the report (carls words) for the next customer is just insane to me. Hopefully the next customer isn't as screwed by the negligence of this company as we were.
