From the very beginning ******* was outstanding noting all items that we would need moved. We were very impressed with the 3 gentleman who wrapped everything and loaded the truck for delivery. Then ****** took over as our shipment was to be delivered. This is where the wheels fell off a bit, but through no fault of ******. The 3rd party they utilized for our move kept changing the date and time for various reasons. Hence what we were told for delivery was delayed by a week causing undue stress to us as we had to change airline tickets to accommodate their tardiness. But when the driver did show up he was as good as the front end people who wrapped and loaded everything. I would just say in closing that while we became a bit exasperated with dates and times changing it ended up well. Colonial employees were very professional and polite but the 3rd party they utilized kept us guessing too much causing sleepless nights. Just prepare to have dated and ETA altered but overall great experience. While we understand nothing is Guaranteed when it comes down to date you will receive your shipment be prepared to have a few restless nights worrying. Again though, ******* and ****** were very calm and professional and tried to keep us in the loop. Would we use them again? Absolutely but would not count on dates given to be adhered to.Colonial Van Lines Relocation Division LLC

We moved from IN to CO. We had a trip abroad scheduled, so our main concern was timing. After expressing this, the Colonial Van Lines (CVL) sales person assured us that our delivery would “easily” happen within a week, with the estimated window before we left. We were given an estimated pick-up of 8am-12pm on 10/12. On 10/12, at 11:50am, the driver called stating that he would not be there until that evening. Upon arrival at 5:45pm, they told us that they couldn’t fit everything in the truck and would need to come back the next day. We learned that our things were taken >500 miles the wrong direction and delivery wouldn’t occur until after the window. Our options: pay for CVL to unload&store our things or find our own storage but still pay for unloading. Both options put the burden of cost on us, even though it was CVL’s fault. Thankfully, a friend agreed to receive our things while we were gone. Originally, we were told we could pay with a credit card at delivery, but our offloading team only accepted cash/money orders. Damage was extensive. A mattress was ruined, as if it sat in water. Every piece of furniture has new scratches, and a few items have to be thrown away. An expensive lamp was snapped in half, and there were many broken dishes. It was remarkable to find a box in decent condition. Damages will likely cost us ~$1500. The lack of communication was infuriating. CVL’s website makes a point to say that they are a “moving company”, not a moving broker, but our pick-up and delivery were completed by two different companies, neither of which was actually CVL. As CVL does not control their “agents”, CVL lacked info and told us repeatedly that there was nothing they could do. Delivery was 2 wks ago; we have not seen the final cost breakdown. There were unexpected fees, but most frustrating was the lack of respect for our things/time and poor communication. We won’t use this company again; we will continue to tell everyone we know about our awful experience.Colonial Van Lines Relocation Division LLC

Had a very negative experience. They were unreliable, rude and dishonest. Got burned by the good old bait and switch on pricing. **************** will not respond to my calls. Would definitely look elsewhere if you need a mover.Colonial Van Lines Relocation Division LLC

I recently file a complaint with the BBB about Colonial Van
Lines. I am changing my rating to 5 star because of the customer
service that Donna gave to me. I do believe that she was actually
concerned about my problems and wants to do something about it. My
items were delivered with minimal damage and the driver of the truck and
his crew were very polite and understood the concerns I had. The basic
problem was with the scheduling and management and of the process , but
I do believe that Donna is working to help resolve those issues.Colonial Van Lines Relocation Division LLC

************************************************* is the worst moving company that I have ever used to move. I have move many times throughout my life and never have I seen such disorganization and lack of credibility in a moving company. The sales person selling the contract lead me to believe that they were professional, capable and honors and they were NONE of these things! Once they got the contract and our money, they did not communicate to us what would happen when which created great anxiety for my husband and me. They did not call an hour before arrival (even with a 4 hour window). Once arriving late, the the driving dropped the packers and drove away with all the supplies leaving them with nothing g to do. They use separate teams that arrive from another state and they were all late. Last nights lifters arrived at 3am! We are exhausted and frustrated that we spent so much money on such a horrible moving company.Colonial Van Lines Relocation Division LLC

I hired this company out of ******* because the BBB listed them with an A- rating. I travel and move a lot nationally. I am an educator and herbalist************* lost so much of my rare herbal books, cultural book, lap equipment herbs and so much more and my research things I've been involved with for over 38 years. They even lost the legs to my mahogany dining table that I paid $1200 .They gave he the run around, for months I was discovering more things were missing I moved from GA to Ca. To set up my herbal business. I could not because so much if my thing were missing. They did not help me, I filled claims with them abd sent them in. They kept saying the didn't get the forms ..I FELT LIKE I WAS BEGGING THEM TO DO RIGHT BY ME ************* started giving me the run around, keeping me on hold for a long time, not answering emails.THEY ARE THE WORSE AND THEY FONT GIVE A **** ABOUT CUSTOMERS.Colonial Van Lines Relocation Division LLC

They don't even deserve a star. This is the worst service I have ever received. The company gave me a quote for a **** sq foot home, and showed up in a small Uhaul. They then quoted me 9K more than what I was quoted originally, which on thier website they boast at how great thier esitmates are, there is ALOT of ***** advertising on thier website. we really didn't have a choice at this point and it was not Colonial that came to move us. They contracted out to a company called: Matig Trucking. Never told us. So only two people showed up to move a **** sq foot home. They called more people to come with another UHAUL, still no semi truck that they advertise on thier website. Two more people show up, high on drugs, then left after 2 hours. My husband ended up having to pack our stuff, beacuse they didn't bring enough people to move to pack even though they charged us 23K for the move. Then, they were at our house until 1am, and my husband had to help them move stuff into the uhaul as the people they sent was a man in his 60's who could barely lift stuff. They didn't pack up or wrap our furniture , nor our dishes, just threw stuff in a box. Then, the next day, two more random people showed up to help move the rest of the stuff in two uhaul, and still the trucks were not big enough to move our household items. They drove to our new location and had to empty out one truck, then return to our house back in CT to pick up the rest. We paid them for half of the move, and they wouldn't deliver the remaining items to our house until we paid the rest of the bill. They told the drive not to release our stuff until we paid the rest of the bill, so they held our stuff hostage basically. So we called, paid the bill, and they threw the boxes in our house, never unpacked like they stated in the contract. Then the dispatcher called us to tell us to stop harassing the movers, yet we bought them pizza, two nights in a row. FALSE ADVERSTISEMENTColonial Van Lines Relocation Division LLC

Unfathomably awful, unprofessional service provided. Company deliberately defied their own contractual terms - did not come on date provided in notice, did not provide quality packing (boxes falling apart upon arrival w items hanging out, a dozen dishware pieces shattered, artwork not wrapped and boxes securely), boxed things I already boxed up, packed things into a non company vehicle, packed things in the truck I told them stayed with property (incurred landlord fees), wouldnt schedule payment call and tried to wrongly impose $5k of storage and taxes during shipment process, moving reps have hung up on me when I have sought out help for the circumstances, and they have stolen a tv and bookshelf that Im currently having to validate reimbursement for. Its been a 3mo long involvement process with this company. Makes me never want to hire movers again. Would never recommend to anyone, and let it dwindle. Pure incompetence on training and customer service.Colonial Van Lines Relocation Division LLC
