    1/26/25 1:15pm Coastal Towing dropped a car across from my drive way illegally , when asked the driver to move it he was only rude and left, I called and spoke to someone on the phone and had the same experience, come move this car that is not mine from being illegally parked behind my drive way

    This response was taken verbally by BBB: 

    We did not drop the vehicle in front of this consumers driveway. This was a job for his neighbor and he was not happy with where the neighbor wanted it put. The consumer does not own the street but felt he could control where we were to put the car. We put it on the neighbors property not his.

    I recently had my Honda CRV stolen from outside of my residence (license: IJACOB). It was recovered by the police and towed by Coastal Towing. When asking about the drivability of my car the front-desk clerk said she didn't know if it was drivable, since she didn't have a key. When paying for my car she also never informed me about number 18 of the 46.2-118. Prohibited Acts By Tow Truck Drivers and Towing and Recover Operators which states "Fail to provide the owner of a stolen vehicle written notice of his rights under law to be reimbursed for towing and storage of his vehicle (...)". They didn't tell me anything about being reimbursed for anything.

    When I did get to my vehicle I found out the tire was obviously slashed, twice. And when I tried to change the tire they told me I wasn't allowed to. Nor did they provide alternatives to getting it out of their lot.

    I do not have a picture of the car from their lot, I totally forgot to take one. But I do have a receipt of the charges - $275.60 and an additional witness to the whole event.
