      My Grandaughter ******** ***** was having trouble reading. So My wife and I reached out to the Reading Success Center. We paid 800+ dollars for the initial evaluation. We were then told we needed to get her in some classes that would help her. We did that, I will be first to tell you Torianne is a very nervous person and has other issues. So after paying an additional 800+ dollars Torianne went to first session and didnt even make it in the door,she was just a nervous wreck, and the administrator was full aware of that all before hand and witnessed it herself. I have contacted her numerous times to try and get my money back for services that were never received. She has failed to reach out to me at all. I understand maybe she could charge me for 1st session but I really think it would be un fair to keep all of it. I have attached the text messages and you can see on last one she did not return a message or a phone call.Please help!!!

      Our Policy:
      We advise all of our clients that ****** packages do not expire.  Even if the family needs to take time off for any reason, the remaining ******s will be waiting for the student when the student returns for ******s.

      The Complaint:   Services were paid for but were not received.  They want a refund.

      What We Did:
      (Please see attachment for specific dates and details of our interactions) 
      Mrs.***** signed an agreement to provide a full reading diagnostic for a sixth grade student (with written report and family support) plus a 24 hour ****** package.

      The reading diagnostic was conducted and analyzed and a written report was prepared which was reviewed with the grandparents including suggestions for support at home for their granddaughter.

      Teachers prepared ******s for the student and the student started the 24 hour ****** package but then the student stopped coming for the ******s because Mrs. ***** asked to temporarily remove her granddaughter from the teaching schedule.  Mrs. ***** was reminded that the remainder of the ******s would be held for her granddaughter until the time was right for her to return.  Mrs. ***** did not bring her granddaughter for any additional ******s nor did she make any arrangements for future ******s.

      Reading Success Center has been ready, willing, and able to provide the remaining ******s either after school, Saturdays, or summer.  Reading Success Center is open all year for ******s Monday to Friday 8:30 - 6:30 and Saturday morning and afternoon.   

      Please Note:
      Until the complaint was filed with the Better Business Bureau, I was not aware that a text was sent to me on October 25.  I was out of town for three weeks and I did not bring my business cell phone with me.  The person attending to the phone in order to address student schedule changes would have gladly put the granddaughter back on the schedule if she had been asked to do so. 

      As the owner of Reading Success Center,  I take full responsibility for not responding to that text from Mrs. ***** and I apologize for any inconvenience it has caused.  The person monitoring my phone did not know how to address a request for a refund so the message did not get the proper attention.

      I paid almost 1700 dollars that I dont have. I was trying to do everything that I possibly could to help my grandchild learn to read. Unfortunately was not a good match. All Im asking and which I think is very fair and morally right, is to refund my money for the lessons. I would gladly even pay for the first *******even though she did not attend. I also understand the first 800 dollars went to testing. Im not asking for that to be refunded. I just think it would be fair to return the money.   Thank you

      We do business with a signed, written agreement. Our policy is if the family needs to take time off for any reason, the remaining ******s will be waiting for the student when the student returns for ******s.  In extenuating circumstances we can offer to dissolve the written agreement.

      In this situation, even though Mrs. ***** signed a contract, we will offer to dissolve the agreement and to provide a partial refund. We are not providing a refund because we did not provide the services that were purchased.  We have always been ready, willing, and able to provide the purchased services.  We are providing a refund because Mr. ***** has stated that they cannot afford the ******s and we do not want to cause a financial hardship for the family.

      We will charge for only two of the 12 ******s that were already paid for (the first ****** was completed and the second ****** because the teacher planned for instruction and waited for the student to arrive).
