I am rejecting this response because:

Everything I stated is true and accurate. I am entitled to a refund because of the incompetent work (and damaged) done by Shingle Masters Roofing and Construction. They installed hurricane straps, that according to the manufacturer of the hurricane straps, provide no protection the way the straps were installed by Shingle Masters Roofing and Construction. Shingle Master Roofing and Construction refuses to provide me any money until I sign their settlement agreement stating that I cannot write any reviews and that they take no responsibility. I paid them in full in May 2024 for the work, directly after the owner of Shingle Masters Roofing and Construction signed an inspection report that all the work passed inspection. Thankfully another Wind Mitigation Inspector identified the hurricane straps as not installed properly.

    Sincerely,

    ******** *******

ccepted in all previous installations. We have done hundreds of these and never failed an inspection or had them installation turned down. Since they don't meet the manufacturers certification requirements, we are willing to do one of two things 1. Refund you the portion of your job for the double wrap straps or 2. Redo them according to ******* requirements." I replied 2 days later via email, that I wanted a refund. I have asked multiple times, and I still have not received the refund I am entitled to. My ceiling in the corners of my garage are hanging down. The corners of my house where they meet the roof are cracked. They split a beam in my attic. They put a 2x4 board under an OSB that has water damage. They cut OSB beyond where they should have at the top of my roof & just shingled over it. I am still awaiting a refund of promised $7114 so that I can apply money toward hiring a competent company to inspect, repair, & install properly, what I had paid them to accomplish.

I decline Shingle Masters Roofing and Constructions offer for a partial refund in exchange for me signing their 4 page settlement agreement that takes away all my rights to include my right to leave honest reviews and leaves me with no warranty on their workmanship. I paid a lot of money for them to perform work on my house. That included a workmanship warranty for many years, that I am not willing to terminate in exchange for a small portion of what I paid this contractor.

I got an estimate from a competent contractor who installs double wrap hurricane straps and will fix the ***** bracing that Shingle Masters attempted to install and it will cost me more than what Shingle Masters Roofing and Construction is offering me, not to mention that Shingle Masters Roofing and Construction caused damage to my house while performing work on my house. The owner/licensed roofing and construction contractor told me they have performed hundreds of these installs of double wrap hurricane straps (I have in an email). Customers have the right to know they paid thousands of dollars for something that, according to the manufacturer, provides no protection. Shingle Masters Roofing and Construction have the correct Florida Professional License to sell the ******************** they offer. They breached their contract. Under Florida law a signed contract is legally binding and a contractor who does not perform the agreed upon work can be sued for breach of contract. The contractor must provide work for its intended purpose. This contractor used the wrong product, instead of actually hurricane straps. The manufacturer, of both the straps they installed and the hurricane straps they should have installed, said it provides NO protection against wind uplift. In the meantime the contractor put lots of holes in my truss, both sides and top affixing the straps that provide no protection. I held up my end of the contract, as I paid the contractor in full when Shingle Masters Roofing and Construction owner signed my Wind Mitigation Inspection report stating that he had personally inspected all work and he checked the box that I have Double Wrap Hurricane Straps installed on my house. This is an official document used to receive insurance discounts.
