      1. We got an estimate for tree trimming from Yutzy Tree Service *** on 7/25/2024. We requested to have the tree limbs/branches located over our roof and translucent roof removed. **** ****** (arborist) also recommended that we should cut two rubbing limbs to prevent problems later. His estimate described what we had agreed: "Backyard client wants to reduce the trees back from over the roof: Oak in center of backyard growing over the translucent roof over porch - remove the rubbing limbs back to 8" and 10" inch cuts to mostly clear the roof, with proper cuts. Off the Live oak near the shed, remove the lowest three limbs, 6" - 9" inches to elevate well above the roof. Remove debris. Amount: 1575.00".2. We waited 7 weeks for our appointment, on 9/17/2024. Me and my husband took the day off work to be home and supervise the service. The tree man named ***** did not even start the service. He cancelled the job and told us to "call and reschedule the service with Yutzy". We were very upset.3. Yutzy accommodated us on 9/20/2024, but none of us was at home when a new crew came in. When I arrived from work in the evening, I found out they had left a hanging tree limb over the translucent roof. I immediately notified Yutzy about it via email.4. Since that day, Yutzy has been claiming that "they have completed the job as agreed"; that "they did what we asked them to do". We disagreed with them and informed them we would submit the payment AFTER they would complete the work, removing the remaining tree limb over our translucent roof.5. They responded to my Email today informing us that "if we did not pay them it would result in a lien on our residence, which was the first step to a judgment in their favor". 6. We feel we have been treated in a condescending way, as if we were ignorant. We feel disrespected and mocked by them. Please assist mediating this situation. I am 58 yo, my husband is 62 yo, we're legal immigrants, speak English with a strong accent. Thank you.

      1. We produced a quote for tree trimming on 7/25/2024. The client requested to have some of the tree limbs/branches located over their shingled and translucent roof removed. I recommended that they should cut two rubbing limbs that grow over the roof to prevent problems later. My quote described what we had agreed. 2. Not all of the limbs over the roof were requested to be cut as there are still limbs over the roof, but our clients wanted the lower limbs from over the translucent portion of the roof removed. In order to properly remove one of the smaller limbs, a cut at a lateral of 10" - 12" inches in diameter was required, as the small limb is the only live part of a larger branch, which I pointed out to the client with a laser pointer. The client DECLINED to allow us to make the proper cut as she claimed it was 'too big'. I told her that it wasn't unhealthy for the tree and that without approving that cut there would still be a lower branch left over the translucent part of the roof. She again DECLINED to allow us to make the cut claiming that it was 'too big'. 3. The service was scheduled for 9/17/2024. Our arborist/******* did not even start the service. ***** called me that morning and told me that the client wanted me to come out to the job site to review. I could not accommodate as it is unusual for our foremen to request a sales review for such a simple job. We rescheduled the job for 9/20/2024 with a different crew. I did meet that crew to review the scope of work. 4. After the work was performed, the client contacted us to remove the additional small limb over the translucent roof area that was originally declined. I told them that the scope of work was created with a laser pointer and that I was clear about the exact cuts required and that one of the cuts was DECLINED. At a subsequent meeting, after-hours to accommodate our client's busy schedule, the client told me she remembered me showing her the cut and she remembered thinking it was too big. It was not too big for the health of the tree, but we acquiesce to client wishes if their requests aren't illegal or trespassing. She also disclosed that if she wasn't happy with the work, her plan was to tell the ******* to do additional work, which is not allowed per our company policy.  5. Due to the initial cancellation, the non-payment, and the requirement that we complete work that wasn't quoted, we asked for the client's proposal for the value of the substantial work that was already completed, and informed them that they could hire someone else to finish the service. They refused to suggest a discounted amount or to pay even a portion of the original price for work that was already done properly and in good faith. Now they are using the BBB to create problems for us and force us to do additional work for them, gratis. Even though they refuse to pay ANYTHING, and we are within our rights to pursue them for the service that they have already received, we are dropping the issue because the theft of our service and waste of our time has been utterly demoralizing and we would rather lose the time and money than continue to interact with them.

      1) We specifically requested a quote from Yutzy to have the tree limbs and branches over our shingled and translucent roof REMOVED, not only some of them; 2) Our request was written on the quote submitted to us, reason why we agreed to hire their services; 3) We did NOT decline any cuts -> in fact, after additional cuts were suggested by Yutzy, we still requested that no branches and limbs would be left over our roofs; 4) We did NOT cancel our service on 9/17/2024: Yutzy crew ABANDONED the job and told us to reschedule it - after we had already waited 7 weeks for our service and taken a day off our respective jobs to be home; 5) The second crew came in when we were not at home, left a medium size limb sitting over our translucent roof, and we notified Yutzy about it via Email on that same day; 6) We have never refused to pay for Yutzy's service - we have notified Yutzy of our decision to submit our final payment AFTER they would complete the service as agreed; there is a big difference on each action; 7) Yutzy has refused to complete the service, instead told us we would have to pay an additional $700.00 to have the limb removed and kept submitting the service bill to our address; 8) We filed a complaint with BBB because Yutzy has dismissed our multiple attempts to find an amicable solution for this situation. The very fact that now Mr. **** ****** accuses us of "theft of their service" and "refusal of payment" illustrates how he keeps lying to manipulate the narrative of what has really happened. This is not only deeply insulting to us - as we are honest citizens and abide by the law of this country - it also exposes the deceitful nature of this gentleman. In over 32 years of living in this country, this is the first time we have been treated with this level of disrespect, dishonesty and unprofessionalism from a licensed and established company. Yutzy says they don't want our money and next accuses us of refusing to pay them. Completely insane situation. We agree with them, we don't want to deal with their lies, insults and unprofessionalism anymore. We will send them a check for what we feel it is fair for an incomplete job, and for all the trouble and pain they have created to us since 7/25/2024. Thank you.
