I bought my cart over 6 years ago from E.C.C. so have had a few dealings with their staff and their service department over the years. Each and every encounter with them has been top notch. I just recently had routine maintenance performed (full brake job) and it couldn’t have been an easier process. They were friendly and helpful on the phone, the parts were in stock, and they picked up and delivered my cart back to my home without any complications. It was streamline and it was easy! (Fast turnaround time also!) This is a top notch operation all the way around. I highly recommend doing business with the Electric Cart Company!

Not bad. A little expensive, but good service. Still don't really understand the problems and seems that I should have been notified of the update,

BUYER BEWARE! I took my GEM cart to this business coming from Alabama (130 miles one way) to have it repaired. After a week they informed me that it needed new batteries, $3,500. I authorized the repair. Then they called me back and said it would be another $2,000 for a drive motor. I said forget it, $6,000!!! I’ll pick it up. Then they tell me that my repair bill for DIAGNOSTICS is going to be $ 1,177.01. That is robbery and fraud. Nobody charges that to tell you what is wrong with your vehicle. And they certainly never informed me that there would be a bill this big just to tell me what’s wrong with it.

Mr. *********** You brought your 2012 Gem E2 to our facility and dropped it off for service on 2/3/2023. You asked the dealership to diagnose your cart and find out why it isn’t running. You stated to our service writer that you bought it off of someone and it has sat for a year. For the technician to even begin diagnostics we have to have power to the cart, Your batteries were 2016 Batteries and had 5 volts on the pack, average life span of golf cart batteries is 4 years. You authorized us to install batteries on 2/20/2023 in the amount of $3,100.42 our technician installed the batteries, after installation of the batteries the technician sent the cart for a test drive to see if it would move and begin further diagnostics to see if there were issues other than no power to the cart, the cart had to be pushed to get it to run. 2 miles into the test drive a code 81 appeared on the dash, which indicates a speed sensor/speed magnet issue, the cart then drove for 6 miles at top speed of 18mph regardless of whether the cart was in hi or low status. Cart was returned to technician bay after pushing it a third time to start the cart, he replaced the key switch, and it moved without having to be pushed. Once on the lift and when pressing the accelerator, sparks shot out and a sound then began emitting from the cart that is indicative of a bad motor, knocking, sparking, clinking/clunking sound. At that time the ticket had 5 hours of labor ($125.00 per hour) into it; an estimate was then sent to you for replacing the motor. Total would have been $5,877.08 out the door. However, you declined to replace the motor and then asked us to remove the batteries and stated you would just come pick it up. The bill is for labor to install the batteries, no parts included and the labor to uninstall the batteries and all of the diagnostics for the key switch and motor. On 2/20/2023 an email was sent to you stating your cart was complete for the direction you gave us and to please pick up and remit payment. Another email was sent 8 days later asking you to please pick up the cart and remit payment. We do not have the availability of space to house carts for any extended amount of time. No Response from you was received. Another email was sent on 3/1/2023 asking you to please let us know when you would be picking up the cart, no response from you. On 3/7/2023 another email was sent asking you to notify us within 48 hours of when you were going to pick up the cart or we would begin to assess $15.00 per day for storage, which is our standard policy and is on all correspondence.
You then replied to that email stating “To: Service (SRB) From: **********, Neil Sent: 03/07/2023 8:48 AM You can keep the cart. $1200 to evaluate what was wrong with it is ridiculous and robbery I will not pay that, and it is yours. To which we replied for us to have possession of your cart we would need the bill of sale or title if you are surrendering the cart. The bill due is from the labor hours to install batteries, replace keyswitch, diagnose motor, remove batteries that is what a service shop does, just as you asked and at your direction. “You simply stated File a Mechanics Lien.”
We truly hope we could clear this up!

Your shop performed an estimate and quote for a repair of my vehicle. I accepted your quote. You then doubled it. You then attempted to force me to pay the doubled cost by charging me $1200 to evaluate the vehicle. No “real” automotive shop does business like this.
