  I had my AC installed by AirNow in 2022. In July 2025 my unit went out. They sent a tech, who told me my motor compressor had broken, but also that I had to replace 2 float switches, neither of which were covered under the warranty. He said those would cost $700 to install. I pressed him if it was required for me to replace those, as it seemed like an astronomical cost for something not covered under warranty. He claimed my unit would not work if I didn't replace them. I ended up using ChatGPT to find out more which confirmed float switches only cost about $30 each and are very easy to install. I confronted him about this and asked why they were charging $700, and he had no explanation. I had him replace the motor that was still under warranty and in the end my AC turned back on and worked perfectly! I didn't even need the float switches replaced. This company was trying to scam me out of $700. I cannot believe a company as reputable as this is doing this to people, trying to take advantage of someone who is in a desperate situation knowing most people would have just paid it assuming they had no choice. I will not ever be returning to using this service.

  Unfortunately, AirNow uses some irresponsible and unethical business practices. We were customers up until about March or 2023 when we sold our house and moved. Fast forward to mid-July of this year and we see a charge on our account from AirNow. The charge was nominal, but still made me wonder what was happening. I got in touch with them and they explained that when the new residents signed up for service, they must have charged the old billing account. I couldn't believe they would keep our banking info associated with the address after we closed our account--horrible practice! They proceeded to remove our billing info while we're talking on the phone so they can proudly report that after 17 months they did a good job and deleted it. Now they can't just credit back our account, but swear they mailed a check to our new address and closed the ticket. No check and despite talking with them at least three times to follow up, they won't call us back. Our HVAC was well, albeit expensively maintained, but stealing from former customers and going radio-silent is indefensible. They serviced my home unit just today (2/27/2024 )and I must say they are providing excellent service to the unit I have currently which, by the way, they installed about 4 years ago.   *****, ***** and **** arrived on time and set about the task of removing and replacing my "antique" gas furnace and condensing unit and replacing it with a more efficient heat pump. I do not recall them breaking for lunch, but they may have grabbed a snack. Nevertheless, they completed the job in less than six hours, which seemed to me to be a relatively quick install. Start-up was uneventful with everything working out-of-the-box. Two days now and everything still functioning properly. Kudos to AirNow.
