I recently entrusted my ********** Passat to Elite Motor Works, hoping for a resolution to persistent issues: an EPC light and concerning sounds coming from the engine. Unfortunately, my experience has been far from satisfactory, and I feel compelled to share my story.First, I was provided a rental car that had nearly a years worth of expired tags and no registration. This left me stranded on the side of the road, nearly facing legal trouble! While this was frustrating, it pales in comparison to the real issue: after investing over $4,200 and waiting almost three weeks for repairs, my car still exhibits the same problems. Despite my attempts to return for follow-up service, I felt more like an inconvenience than a valued customer. Its disheartening to think that a shop specializing in European vehicles could not diagnose the issues I clearly outlined, particularly when I suspected the problem involved the piston rings. The same engine sounds and EPC light persist, leading me to question the effectiveness of the repairs performed. On my second visit, I was charged an additional $800 for a tire sensor, which only added to my frustration. Its clear to me that Elite Motor Works may have taken advantage of my situation rather than genuinely addressing my vehicle's needs. Without a doubt, I cannot recommend their services. I believe its crucial for potential customers to be aware of my experience, as I intend to share my story across various platforms. If you value your time and money, I urge you to consider other options for your automotive needs.

      Business Response

Thank you for providing your detailed perspective on the situation. We truly value customer feedback and want to clarify what transpired during the service of the guests ********** Passat.
When the vehicle was first brought to us, it was making a clunking/knocking sound from the engine bay, and the guest had already paid over $700 at a ********** dealership without receiving a solution. Upon diagnosing the vehicle, we verified the issue by replicating the sound and analyzing the stored fault codes. It was determined that the turbocharger assembly had failed due to an issue with the internal waste gate flap, which was no longer properly sealing. This failure caused boost-related fault codes and contributed to the knocking and clunking noises the guest was concerned about.
The guest had provided an extended warranty, which we used to help cover the cost of the repair. Our service advisors worked closely with the warranty company, spending over an hour on the phone to ensure the coverage would include the turbocharger assembly replacement. Once we received authorization from the warranty provider, we proceeded with the repair at no additional cost to the guest, ensuring the turbocharger assembly and related components were replaced. We also offered a courtesy loaner vehicle at no charge to the guest during the repair.
Unfortunately, the temporary plate on the loaner vehicle had expired and we couldn't have been more apologetic and disappointed in the situation as well. We immediately took action by driving to the guest on a closed holiday to exchange the vehicle and ensure they were accommodated. This experience helped us create a new process to prevent such issues in the future.
After the repair was completed and the vehicle had been driven for approximately 220 miles ****** miles currently stated on the odometer, the guest contacted us about additional warning lights on the dashboard. We quickly arranged for the vehicle to be towed back to our facility, where we diagnosed the issue as failed rear wheel speed sensors, which were unrelated to the turbocharger replacement. These sensors are a common failure on many **********, ****, and Porsche models, and unfortunately, their failure cant be predicted in advance. We replaced the sensors and cleared the fault codes, ensuring the vehicle was functioning properly again.
Regarding the tire pressure light, we responded promptly on December 25, 2024, explaining that the light is simply an indicator for checking tire pressure and can often be resolved by adding air or resetting the system. Unfortunately, we did not receive further communication from the guest following our response.
We understand the guests frustration and appreciate the opportunity to clarify the events as they occurred. While we strive to provide the best service, there seems to have been some miscommunication that led to dissatisfaction. We stand by the quality of our work and always aim to address any issues that arise in a professional and timely manner.
