    Business Response

    Date: 09/11/2024

Here is an email that I sent to My client after receiving this complaint. Also, since this complaint they have received additional letters from government agencies requiring immediate responses. I have completed the emergency need that falls within the scope of services that they requested Id be available for. Additional compliance issues were also found that require immediate attention. Both of these emergent issues come from years of accounting that I was not ever responsible for or information that I was never privy to.  There was no hesitation in my response to their emergency issue.
Hey guys, Im sorry I put you off one more time. I am wrapping up a state tax audit. Ive been working on since March. I have put your 2024 books on hold. As well as a few other companies that are not currently in an emergency situation. If you are currently in an emergency situation that I didnt know about please let me know so I can help immediately.
I have always stopped what I was doing to handle any surprise tax issues that have come up for you.
Your QuickBooks is suspended currently as are a few of my other companies. I had to take into account that I was not going to be actively working on it and your bill was only going to continue to grow. I can reactivate it at any time up thru 2025. I can also print paperwork from it. I charged you for QuickBooks up until December 2023.

Your books are completed/current for ********* you are currently on extension with the *** for 2023 due to the **************************************** June.

A substantial amount of the transactions have been categorized for 2024 but not reviewed. Therefore, I have not charged you for that quarterly bookkeeping yet. Whats left to complete is, reviewing the transactions that were automatically categorized due to a set rule. Some of these transactions do not belong where they were automatically categorized. I also have to move some debit and and refund transactions together in the accounts I set up for the activities you were involved in in NGW and the 1000+ credit card transactions and payments that were made while commingling the multiple personal and businesses accounts

I have very limited work to do in the real estate portion of your businesses that involves linking depreciation with the asset center in your books.

I was unaware that you could not log into your QuickBooks. Because I still can.  If you give me some time to get in it, I  will see how to reset your password.

I think I mentioned earlier I charged you for your QuickBooks up until December 2023. You own the data. There is no funny business.

Without going into archives, I believe I charged you for hourly for reconstructing historical records with thousands of un recorded transactions for multiple separate businesses for multiple years. A prior year corporate tax return and historical W-2 filing. A 1040 tax return with multiple business investments,  a self-employment return.

And due to the fact that not all of your QuickBooks accounts were set up the same month, I billed you up until December 28, 2023 for 11 total fees from four accounts. I did not charge you the full amount that could have been billed because I kept accounts suspended while they were not in use.

Your books for 2023 have been reconstructed to the point of tax filing. Your balance sheet is not completed yet due to connecting assets and separating credit accounts.
We spoke of this. We did need to wait until all prior years and balances have been accounted for so that we would not need to amend this return.

I believe it has been just a few months since we resolved the last letter Due to your emergency text message.

I do not believe you have been billed or have paid for anything you have not received and your questions regarding that may have to do with the ever-changing result of reconstructing multiple years and thousands of transactions without receipts or invoices.

I am wrapping up my another clients emergency state tax audit. I received an email today requesting some final information and an in person business visit within 10 days.
This will free me up to go back to your case.

The most efficient way to complete traditional bookkeeping and tax preparation is to utilize the services of the entire firm. There is no one with the level of experience that I have with tax law surrounding record reconstruction in my firm. No one even comes close, and this is because I cannot find anyone else that offers the services that I do in ********

Due to the sensitivity and serious nature of ensuring that your books are accurately reconstructed to tax code requirements, I cannot use an employee to do a final review of categorized transactions, and this is in your best interest.

I fully expect to have your obligations completed and submitted before the due date for your extension.

With all of that information, you are still free to make any choice you want with the data contained in this QuickBooks account. I offer you that piece of mind by having you pay for the QuickBooks. youre always free to find the services of another accountant and my service to you does not end until your new accountant is on the same page with the work that I have done for a sort of seamless transition.

The books and taxes should not be your concern as you should be focusing on the success of your business. You do need to trust your accountant, and so if we have lost that I understand and I fully support your decisions.

If you have an emergent need for some sort of documentation or report, please let me know and I will get that immediately.

I look forward to having a phone conversation soon, and a zoom meeting or in person meeting sometime after the in person business visit I have to be a part of.

Thank you for your time and consideration guys, I continue to support your success, whether or not I am a part of it.

    Personally and with kindest regards,
