      I brought an Oriental rug to Rugs as Art for cleaning. A couple of weeks later, I received a message from ****** indicating that the rug was cleaned, but the fringe had frayed a bit and asking my permission whether or not to cut and even the fringe. Before I could call back and ask any questions or for a picture, I received another message from him indicating that they had gone ahead and cut the fringe! I couldn't believe that they would make this type of change to my property without my permission.I was shocked when I went to pick up the rug. The beautiful long fringe on the rug was gone--now only about an inch or two long. I asked to speak to the owner. I man who identified himself as "****, the owner" came out and agreed that they should have waited for my permission before cutting the fringe. And that there was nothing that they could do. I asked for a refund of the approximately $100 cleaning fee and he refused.******** owned merchandise should not be modified in any way without prior permission. The beauty and value of the rug has been reduced and cannot be replaced. I will not be back.
