On 11/05/22 an employee of this company responded to my house to install a new front porch screen approx 8 by 9 . The job was completed and payment of $145 was made at that time. Within two weeks the screen had loosened up and several ripples in the screen occurred. Since the defects were so widespread I contacted via email the owner on 11/12/22, ****, to let him know what happened and asking for someone to come repair it. He responded the same day stating we will be added to the schedule. No further contact from him so I sent another email on 11/28/22 asking if we were still on schedule for the repair. He responded the same day now stating he was having trouble with his van and appreciated our patience. I have had no further contact from him and now we are nearly two months from the time of initial contact. This repair will probably take about 30 minutes to complete by one person with a handheld tool not requiring a van. Very frustrated.

I submitted a detailed and accurately measured plan to construct a pool cage using previously constructed pool cage materials, plus additional materials, to Alex C******* at ABC Aluminum and Screen to assess and quote what he deemed necessary to complete a pool cage for my pool. Alex came on site, assessed the pool space and materials, took my detailed plans with him, and submitted a quote and wrote up a contract. We both agreed to the labor cost, plus additional material cost.

7 days and 35 hours into the construction of the pool cage, Alex said he underestimated the time involved in the project and asked for more money for labor. Since the project is not complete, I started pointing out measurement and alignment mistakes made to the construction to date, and said I would consider more labor cost when the mistakes were addressed. Alex then attempted to void the contract, claiming fixing his mistakes was an additional work order, and sent an addendum to the original contract demanding more money for labor to complete the pool cage. To date, Alex is claiming the pool cage is complete and structurally sound, yet there are 12 very large paneled sections without screen, two doors not installed, and an entire corner not attached to anything. These are all items Alex itemized and detailed in the original contract stated to be addressed to complete this project. Alex is now refusing to finish the pool cage construction.

I want Alex at ABC Aluminum and Screen to correct his mistakes and finish the pool screen construction he started and agreed to in the original contract he wrote. I will pay the last remaining 30% of the original contract when the project is completed to my satisfaction (as per the contract), and no more than the labor originally agreed upon. I will consider the project complete when ALL mistakes are corrected, the remaining panels screened, two doors installed, and the pool cage is connected everywhere to make it actually structurally sound.

On July 27th, 2022 the client asked for additional modifications which constituted a work order change and additional payment. The screen room in question was understood from the beginning of this project to be a compromised screen room. The sole goal of this project was to create a screened in enclosure to protect from the bugs. Client had an enclosure that he removed himself, and in an attempt to save money, asked if we could re-use some of his old material with the understanding that some new material would need to be purchased for modifications. The old material was not clean aluminum, therefore it was understood the screen room would not look brand new. Claims that these are mistakes of ours is false, it is just the old material provided by the client. The only drawing referred to was a rectangular box with some lines in it. This IS NOT a detailed and accurately measured blueprint. This project was scheduled to be complete on July 27th, 2022, the day we were asked to take down and modify an additional section not originally agreed upon. It was explained that we could not complete the additional work until a later date, and that further payment would be required. We decided to not stop work on the project until a work order change was signed. While that would have been ideal, a verbal agreement was done instead which is still an agreement. When we sent the work order change client claimed this is unfair, and that he would not pay the remaining balance due until after completion, which again should have been on July 27th. Not many would have agreed to do this job for many reasons. There are too many unknowns and variables, which the client said he understood. There was nothing saying a whole new wall would be built. The old wall was not able to match up with the configuration client wanted, client claiming this is a mistake of ours which is not. It would mean building a new wall with new material. The request to make this look like a brand new cage is ridiculous, if a new cage was desired, a new cage should have been purchased. The remaining balance is owed for work already done, (including $431.54 in unpaid material loan) and additional payment is required for modifications and to complete the screening process.
