**In 2023 - The ISSUE is that the roof completed by Gone Coastal Roofing in January 2023 has had ongoing issues with leaking. They attempted to fix the leaks 4 times over several month, and communicating with Gone Coastal was extremely difficult. **In 2024 after a very windy storm the leaks appeared again. We hired a leak inspection company to provide information of the source of the leaks. We contacted Gone Coastal Roofing attaching the leak inspection report to an email, but Gone Coastal did not ever return our calls or emails. We have since had 3 independent roofing companies look at our roof, give us estimates on the repair cost, and ALL reported that area of the roof that was causing the leaking was done incorrectly.*Roof Replacement Completed in January 2023 by Gone Coastal Roofing.*This was a part of an insurance claim.1/28/2023 Roof Installation ****************** Paid $22,50000 We Paid $14,316.53 Total $36,816.53 *From Estimates Received in 2024 as part of getting Quotes for Repairing Roof Leaks This was approximately $10,000 more in todays dollars when Roof was sourced to Gone Coastal Roofing in 2023.*Gone Coastal Roofing committed to provide us a "quality roof and good communication and 100% satisfaction" (from Gone Coastal Roofing web page).*The dispute: Gone Coastal Roofing failed to provide us with a quality roof, failed to repair their poor installation, and fails to communicate. So, we have lost confidence in this company. and are hiring another roofer to do the repairs that are needed.*Gone Coastal attempted to repair the roof 4 times in 2023. We needed to constantly send repeated emails and voicemail messages with the company.*With the most recent leaking - Gone Coastal did not respond.*In late 2022, an internet search was done to get quotes for a new roof. The first company we called was Gone Coastal Roofing who said that they could work with a public adjuster and our insurance company.

I would like to start off with apologizing.....this obviously has been upsetting to ************************** As noted in their summary of events..there was a span of close to a year after we repaired the area of concern & then paid a painting contractor to fix the interior. I would like to note that when they tried contacting us again on August 5th 2024...the business had lacked in communication due to my being hospitalized. As the doctors had said they did not expect me to live.  I had Meningitis, brain surgery, & was in a comma for a week.  I was also in ************************** for close to 3 months.  So I understand and agree that communication was no doubt not very good....As a contractor & one who cares for my customers..I would like to help make this right for them.  I would like to come out and have my Project Manager thoroughly inspect and make a material list & schedule our best mechanic to do any needed repairs to make sure that the roof is done to the best possible standard.  We could at present have this take place next week.  I would love to gain ******************** confidence once again.  We will also work closely after all is done with them to make sure after the next rain...that everything is water tight....we could do that by also monitoring the attic space quickly after the rain takes place or maybe even when it is currently raining.  I am willing to also due to their frustration with this whole process...warranty the labor of their roof for as long as they have their home.  I hope we can get this resolved and my end result of making them happy!.

PS....I would come out to the job site to check on things...but can only view from my truck due to still not being able to walk yet...due to my illness.

I am rejecting this response because:

We have no confidence in Gone Coastal Roofing. Gone Coastal attempted the repairs four times unsuccessfully. During this time, communication was very difficult.
Since Gone Coastal was unable to repair our roof, we have contracted with another roofing company to repair our roof correctly.
The only resolution we are interested in is a monetary refund of our additional costs.
Reference the chronological summary included in the BBB complaint.

I have offered to repair your leak and resolve it.  You are not allowing me to rectify the issue.  Also any other company opening our roof to repair will void any warranty that you have with Gone Coastal Roofing.  Work has obviously not been performed by this other company which is evident by your stating that you are under contract.  I  know any roofing contractor in the area would cancel your contract once you request it.  Thus this is my offer.  I am asking that you allow us to try one last time to fix it. If it doesnt work this final time then we can discuss monetary terms.  We have had two hurricanes this year hitting our area which voids any warranty work going forwardhowever I am overlooking this to help you as customers out.  Thus again I am asking you to put your contract for your repair on hold & allow us to fix the problem.

I am rejecting this response, but will possibly accept depending on your written proposal to repair and agreement to the "in addition" requests - including a timeline to complete all work..

This is part of the proposal from the company that I contracted with: "THE CRICKET IN FRONT OF THE SECOND STORY NEEDS REPLACING. REMOVE THE
SHINGLES, OLD UNDERLAYMENT AND ANY BAD DECKING. INSTALL A NEW 2 PLY MODIFIED BITUMEN UNDERLAYMENT SYSTEM IN THE *************** FLASH N
COUNTER FLASH THE **** IF NEEDED. INSTALL SHINGLES OVER THE CRICKET."

      In addition:

*There are additional areas that need to be repaired that, as yet, have not leaked. These all need to be fixed. See Sleuth Report for details. Plus, do a thorough inspection of entire roof to find and repair any other areas that need to be repaired/fixed.

*Reimburse us for the cost of the Sleuth Report and the cost of repainting the kitchen/family room ceiling. $1000.00 to cover both the Sleuth Report, which was $475.00, and painting the ceiling.

      Sincerely,
