I reserved rental tables and chairs. I received my invoice, and paid the $50 deposit. I then received the rental contract. I signed it virtually. The balance due was $84.49 (copy of contract attached). A few days later, the owner called me and told me there was a $60 delivery fee that needed to be added to my invoice. I was confused by this for 2 reasons: 1. Their website clearly states that delivery fees ARE included in the posted prices, though there may be an additional fee depending on area. My contract already included that $20 area fee. And 2. They had already sent me the contract, which I signed. After that voice mail, I was sent another invoice. I did not intend to pay the difference because I had a signed contract with the original cost. To my surprise, when I went back and click on the contract, it now included the $60 additional fee, and it had my signature! I did NOT sign it. My signature was still timestamped from when I signed the first contract. This is not legal! I did speak to the owner, but they had me between a rock and a hard place. I needed the tables and chairs the next day and couldnt scramble to find more. She did remove the $20 out of area fee however, this business is less than 6 miles from my home so I dont really know why I had an out of area fee to begin with. I just really take issue with the bait and switch tactics of this business, as well as the false advertising on their website, but mostly, the fact they they changed a legally binding contract without my consent. A fair resolution would be refunding the $60 delivery charge that should have been included in the price.
