on January 13, 2025 a TV was packaged by *** in their store and shipped to ********. I was assured that packing was done appropriately for a TV. However TV arrived broken, I've tried to get a refund of my shipping costs which was a total of $609 and some money for the TV which arrived broken. The *** claims group paid out only $575 because the UPS store itself improperly spelled shippers name and had to issue a new tracking number, which made it impossible for the *** claims group to understand that the package fee of $125 to pack the TV was the same item. I've attached both receipts the original showing full costs, and the second which shows the new tracking number because the shipper name was spelled wrong. The UPS Store Package ID number on the Receipts are the same. I've attached photos of the packing material and the TV as well as the original cost of the TV from PC ********.

This complaint is actually against *** not The UPS Store. We packaged the item better than what *** requires and *** still managed to damage it in transit. The claim filed is with ***. Once it leaves our store *** is responsible for the package, any damage and pay out. I have contacted ***' claims department to dispute the amount they paid out to include the packing fees. They have not answered me. As far as blaming us for the error on the original label, before the label was even printed the customer has to read over the customer facing monitor with all the information for the label and approve it. We are human and do make mistakes and there are several different ways to spell many names so this is a required step in our system. We can not print a shipping label without the approval of the customer. The customer approved the label with the name ***********. After the package was paid for the customer notified us of the misspelling. We can not be held responsible for something the customer signed off on.

I am rejecting this response because:

Corner protectors (usually made of Styrofoam or molded foam) should be used to prevent impact damage. All four corners were damaged, Only forms of bubble wrap were used.

      Sincerely,
