We had been working with Doma Family of Companies on the re-finance closing of our home in October 2022. Nowhere was it mentioned during this process that the title on the home was "dirty". This company failed to do a thorough search to find there were two liens placed on our property in 2014. Both had gone to judgements and had been recorded within the court system. As far as we knew, we were signing on the closing of our re-finance with no issues and the title was clean. Not once was this communicated in a written or verbal fashion. It was not until June of this year (2023) during the sale of our home, the two liens were discovered by a separate reputable title company. This came as a bit of a shock as we had just worked with Doma 8 months prior. Not only were we as sellers shocked, but the buyers of our home were less than amused. This could have potentially costs us the selling of our home. Had we known about the liens prior to listing, we could have resolved them, tied them into our re-finance loan, and paid them off. The lien payoff ended coming our of our profit ($7,000) on the sale of our home as the title company could not sign off until the title was clean. In July I filed a complaint with the company on their website and did not receive a call until a few days later. The gentleman I spoke to was condescending and I was basically told that all title companies run title searches differently and without exact details, he couldn't really help me. I would not recommend this company to anyone!

I am rejecting this response because:

This was the only affiliation contact information with DOMA that I could find on their website. In order for my complaint to go to the correct DOMA affiliation, please provide me with the branch or contact information that corresponds with my **** address.

    Sincerely,

    ***********************

Please note that *********************** is no longer with the Company.  I am not sure how to respond to the consumer's latest message. The address listed for **************** in her original complaint is ******************************************************************************. I do not know if Doma has a branch office in that location. I need to know the address of the Florida property which is the subject of the complaint. I searched ******************** name in our system and no Florida files come up for her. Without a property address, I can not research this complaint.
