While planning a weekend getaway for myself and three other family members I came across the Dream Aboard Boatels website. Based on the pictures and descriptions of the boats on their website I thought this would be a great choice. I chose "The River Veiw Houseboat" expecting a pleasant experience, with the full understanding that this wasn't your typical hotel room. After driving five hours we were ready to go aboard and relax.Once we began boarding, we immediately noticed some very concerning hazards. The deck where you board is soft, the safety rail has come apart at the end and there is a hole in the deck on the back of the boat. The pictures of the outside is also very deceiving. They show nice updated cedar chairs and lounge chairs on the 2 upper decks when in reality there is only 3 very worn plastic Adirondack chairs and a plastic table. The pictures also showed a nice cover over the very top deck and there isn't one. Once inside we realized that the air conditioner they advertised wasn't working and it was very hot inside, we ended up sleeping with the windows open and using fans the we brought to stay cool. They also advertised having two bathrooms when there is only one.On the second night of our stay we discovered the stove doesn't work either. We tried the first night to contact them, via phone, to see about getting a refund so we could try to find somewhere else but couldn't get an answer. We then sent them an email, with no response.Since we had spent so much money renting the boat and couldn't afford to lose our money, we had no choice but to make the best of it. Had we known about the condition of this houseboat we would never have rented it. Neither of us are wealthy so we saved for this getaway only to find a shamble of a boat.

The business has been in touch with me but there was no resolution. It is a case of false advertising their boat on the water. They are managed by VRBO, and really don't care about any customer service since their employees are outsourced in India.
