This issue pertains to the funeral services and handling of the body of my brother ***************************************. After the police contacted my family(next of kin) about finding his (Dezjron) body unresponsive and lifeless. We contacted Lawson Funeral and Cremation services for help with services. We signed all papers and paid and proceeded with services. During this process a stranger claiming to be my brothers father came in and wanted to change things about the service that We the family had paid for and already planned to proceed with. After which Lawson Funeral and Cremation Services allowed this man with no proof or paperwork to halt services we have already signed and paid for. Continuing my brothers unrest. My mother died when we were children we kept going my oldest sister taking care of us all. Now without requiring any of this to take money and sign all paperwork for services they are asking us to prove guardianship or my brother will continue to just lay there unless someone else does. I need help in this situation. How lawful are these practices? Why was no proof required before being greedy and taking money? Why is a random person off the street able to halt the funeral and cremation services paid for by family? How can they require paperwork and more things after all money has been taken and papers signed?

My father died the 26th of December, of 2022. I permitted Lawson funeral home, to pick up the body for cremation. I've heard nothing for weeks, once I completed their paperwork for the cremation process to take place. I'm worried about my father's ashes being lost. This experience with Lawson funeral home, has contributed to mental stress and emotional pain. This grief process is hard for me. The added stress from Lawson funeral home and ******, does not make the situation any empathetic, but worse, by disregarding the empathetic service they should provide as an organization that is trusted by us, the public.

We shipped the consumer the remains on 2-6-23 express over night certified mail. At this time they have not been returned so we would have to assume that the consumer has received the ashes at this time.
