Our family has two students at Our Savior Lutheran School in **************, *******. *********************** (*****) took over the principal leadership role at the start of the 2022 - 2023 school year, as our long-time principal retired. In Wendys time at the school as our new principal, there has been numerous concerns about her lackadaisical approach to discipline, especially when it comes to white students expressing hate speech to minorities (including the use of the * word) and female students being verbally and physically assaulted by male students. *ot to mention, her own willingness to disregard the schools code of conduct. We have thoroughly documented multiple occasions where ***** has violated the schools code of conduct, which is advertised clearly on the schools website. We have attempted to meet with ***** on multiple occasions but she continues to sweep problematic behavior under the rug, refusing to address it as outlined by the school. Because this is a private school, were unable to turn to the county or state school board. Were desperately searching for an outlet that can help us remedy this situation. We want to know our children will educated in a safe and caring atmosphereas Our Savior Lutheran School paints themselves to be.Attached you will find Our Savior Lutheran Schools "Student Code of Conduct" as well as a few Situations of Concerns" from parents who we have spoken to. We have encouraged these families to reach out as we are doing now but dont want their stories to go untold should they be afraid of the ramifications. In addition to these attachements, we have included a timeline about the verbal and physical assault our daughter experienced the first week in April (that only resulted in our daughter being punished) as well as a PDF copy of the email correspondence from ***** and her staff handing of the situation. We have also included a statement our daughter wrote entirely on her own detailing the account from her perspective.

    Business Response

    Date: 05/02/2024

This complaint was filed on Tuesday, April 16 the same day the parents requested a follow up meeting and we agreed to meet on Friday, April 19.  We met with mom, dad, and step-dad on April 19 to explain that the situation that occured was not what their daughter amplified at home.  The family was agreeable as to how the situation was handled and understand that it did not constitute a follow up with parents.  Proper protocol is for the parents and teacher to work together as partners.  If the situation cannot be resolved, the principal is part of the solution.  If the situation cannot be resolved with the teacher and principal, then an additional staff member or school board member is brought to meet. This protocol was not followed by the parents. The April 19 meeting included mom, dad, step-dad, the teacher, our executive director, and me.
