On 9/23/22 my wife ordered a lift chair for 2 reasons. To elevate my leg and help me get up. It arrived on time but when we tried to recline the chair it wouldnt recline to elevate the leg as promised. It actually tilted downward. My wife called 9/23/22 and spoke to the owner who said she would see if they had one in stock to exchange. We waited until Tuesday, called again and were told they did not have any more chairs and they would pick this one up. I called after seeing the charge for a refund since we were unable to use the chair. The gentlemen said he would speak with the owner. Several days later I called back and spoke to her and she said she would speak with her husband. As of today they never called us back after speaking with them 4 times. We paid $174.66 and are requesting a 100% refund due to a defective chair.

    Hi *****,
I am sorry we have not answered.  We bought another *************** and we have been extremely busy. I know that is not an excuse but it has been our reality.

I will give you a brief overview of the situation and then if you need more information, please let me know.

*************** wife called and requested to rent a lift chair for her husband who was having surgery.  She asked me how high the footrest went up.  I explained to her that it is a standard lift chair from Pride and the manufacturer sets the height and we cannot adjust it in any way.  She was not sure she was going to rent without seeing the chair, and I invited her to come to the store so that I could demonstrate the chair for her and her husband if he was available.

She declined to come into the store and decided to rent the chair.  I informed her it is a monthly rental and that we do not rent for less than a month because it is labor intensive to deliver and set up the chairs.  I quoted her a price, she gave me her credit card number and we delivered on the day requested.

After the surgery, the husband decided that the chair was not what he wanted and they returned the chair less than a week after it was delivered.  The husband requested a discount and we informed him that we do not discount lift chairs for all the reasons we had given to his wife before the rental.

He eventually went on ****** and put a bad review, when that did not force us to refund his money, he went to BBB and put a bad review and when that still did not force us to refund his money, he disputed the charge on his credit card and they have refunded ALL of his money.

It is the policy of the DME's in ****** to rent lift chairs for only a month, and some even put it on their website.  We do not have it listed on our website, but I personally informed the wife of the monthly policy.

    Better Business Bureau:

The reason I left a negative review on ****** and filed a BBB complaint is to get them to respond to my phone calls. This all could have been resolved with a phone call from the business several months ago. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

    Sincerely,
