  When me and my father ******* ******** purchased the vehicle it took ***** maybe two months to even send information on my tag and then after that they called to let us know the tag was ready but he didn’t send a check over to cover the taxes on the tag so she told me to call him and ask him why he didn’t send it with the tag information so he tells me and my father that it’s not his responsibility to pay the taxes it was ours and I have never heard that we had to pay the taxes on a tag if I’m making payments on the car and that’s 500.00 dollars I don’t feel that’s right at all

  We received the complaint from the BBB from the customer. In the complaint under, The Desired Outcome Section it states: “Pay the taxes that he know he is supposed to pay” 
  
  I understand that she went to the Georgia Tag Office and the State of Georgia requires her to pay her taxes to be able to register the car. I have attached the bill of sale which list Sales Tax, Title Fee, License Fee, Registration Fee, and Transfer Fee. All of these sections have an amount of $0 collected. She did pay $20 for a temp tag and under $15 for a Doc Stamp which is a required tax in the State of Florida when a loan is originated. This left her total amount due under $4,000 after her down payment. She also signed a Florida Form DR-123 (Partial Exemption for Motor Vehicle Sold to Resident of Another State). This form states that she did not pay sales tax in Florida and that she may owe tax in her home State of Georgia. I also attached this form. Finally, I attached a Tax Publication from the State of Florida Department of Revenue which gives Florida Motor Vehicle Dealers instructions on what tax rate to charge customers from different states. You will see in the publication that we are instructed to collect no sales tax for motorized vehicles sold to customers in the State of Georgia. 
  
  We are not able to pay customer’s taxes that we did not collect from them. I hope this makes everything clear. If there are further questions, feel free to give us a call.
