I went to ***** ***** for my small business taxes in 2022 as I worked as an independent contractor for a salon named ******** **** ******. ******** ****** is the owner of the salon and I rent a room from her and I purchased all my supplies, decorations, tools, or anything I may need to keep my small business running. I only pay her 214.00 weekly for rent and quarterly taxes to the IRS along with yearly taxes. In 2022 it was my first time using ***** ***** as my CPA. I gave him all of my paperwork as far as expenses, investments, and anything as far as write offs for my business such as medical or anything I could of. He asked me several questions such as if I’ve ever owned a sandwich shop? Or do I have any Corvettes? Or do I have any extra money laying around? I replied to him, no I gave you all of the information I have and I told you I was a ***********. He also asked me what kind of car I drove ? I told him a VW. I asked him if he needed any further information such as who I bought it from and for how much or any other information. He said no just the mileage. He wrote down on a piece of note book paper: total mileage 1592 and then wrote on my 1040 taxes car and truck expenses 964. Then we went over how much I spend in rent yearly for my space at ******** **** ****** and he calculated 214.00 * 52 weeks= 11,128.00 and wrote on a piece of notebook paper “rent”. Then on my Form 1040 C under 20a for Vehicles, machinery, and equipment he put 11,128.00 which is the exact amount we discussed for my rent. It is important to know that I worked at ******** **** ****** as an self employed independent contractor *********** and I rented a ***** **** **** from ******* ******. None which involved Vehicles, machinery, or equipment.
