One of the worst Auto repair experiences of my life. Blew the factory turbo on a brand new 2023 Golf. Had to replace the turbo completely and was quite costly. No problems there I paid the bill and owned the mistake. The same cant be said for the shop that fixed it though. Unfortunately after driving the car with the fixed brand new turbo for only 4 days the car began to act exactly as it did when I blew the turbo. This was odd because the first turbo was blown due to myself getting debris in the turbo inlet pipe. Again stupid mistake and I owned it. This 2nd time however nothing was done to the turbo or engine at all. I didnt even pop the hood. Long story short Auto manufacturers make sure the intake/turbo system is sealed pretty well so these types of failures dont constantly happen. What happened was one of the mechanics in haste forced the intake tube over the turbo inlet which had an oring to seal it. Suspiciously this oring was missing. After a little back and forth it was apparent that the shop owner didnt want to take responsibility for this **** mistake. The shop should have replaced the turbo completely and they would have had a customer for life but instead they let a bad mistake and a couple thousand dollars get in the way of potential thousands and thousands of dollars I would have happily spent. Instead they held my car hostage for 6 weeks while the turbo was at a rebuilt/repair shop. 3 weeks turned to 4 then 5 and finally at 6 weeks I gave in and bought a 3rd turbo. Almost 3 months later, 3 turbos, and about $6,000 out of pocket and I will never take anything that I own anywhere near DAS Autowerks. When the situation called for compassion and empathy I got neither and then on top of that yes he did give a small discount on labor but the whole situation just disgusted me to the core. By the way as I type this review on Sept 12th Ive still not heard a word about turbo#2 so had I not bought turbo#3 Id still have no car basically from June.
