Kimmins was contracted by the City of ***** to do work at my home on 9/25/2023. Two new homes were being built and they needed to access the water main to run another meter. The water main runs under the front of my driveway. Kimmins was contracted to dig up and replace a section of my driveway. One of my vehicles was parked the furthest away from the area that they needed to work on. I asked the workers if I needed to move said vehicle to another location while they did the work. More than once they said that I did not need to. During the work some concrete slurry splashed onto my vehicle multiple times. They used a water ****** to rinse it off and I also used my hose. When I washed my vehicle 3 weeks later I discovered that the concrete slurry had damaged the paint. I called Kimmins to tell them what happened and they said that they would conduct an investigation. My neighbor witnessed the entire event. They told me that they would contact my neighbor during the investigation. That never happened. They simply denied any wrongdoing because I did not have any pictures or video of the incident happening. I got the City of Tampa involved and Kimmins eventually stopped fielding their calls and emails. I started dealing with this situation in October of 2023. Their insurance person told me that their investigation showed nothing. Their investigation simply consisted of asking Kimmins if they did it, which they obviously denied. Their insurance told me that I need to just file a claim with my insurance. This is obviously unacceptable. They damaged my vehicle and expect me to make a $500 comprehensive claim to fix it. The majority of my vehicle needs to be repainted and will cost over six thousand dollars. I have the estimate from a **** dealership. I have phone records of me calling their insurance adjuster multiple times and being ignored. Kimmins needs to accept responsibility for the damage they caused and make this right.
