Complaint concerns construction defects from work performed by NKBA at our home. NKBA ( owner Khalid J.) refuses to respond to communication or repair the issues.
    1. NKBA reconstructed two bathrooms from the studs. The master bathroom is downstairs, directly below the upstairs bathroom. The master bathroom vanity wall is damp and the paint discolored, indicating water behind the drywall. This moisture has become so severe that the portion of the wall to which the electrical outlet was attached has collapsed. Through the hole in the wall where the outlet was attached, you can see standing water and the wires where the outlet is connected are wet, which presents a serious safety hazard. When the upstairs sink or shower is on, there is water dripping from the upstairs bathroom through the wall down to the master bathroom below. Due to this ongoing leak, mold has started to form and there is a constant odor. We cannot use the upstairs bathroom and have to stop using the only other full bathroom in the home while repairs are underway. NKBA built the master bathroom walk-in shower from scratch and the interior grout is cracking, and the underside of the step into the shower is un-grouted resulting in leaking out of the shower onto the floor and wooden baseboard adjacent to the shower. In addition to moisture damage to the wood surrounding the shower, the leaking is a safety hazard. There is no sealant around the sink plumbing under the two sinks in the master bathroom.
    d. Pest control professionals have cited these water issues, and lack of sealant and grouting as the reason for recurring drain fly live roach issues.
    2. NKBA refinished the hardwood floors. There are rough, unsanded areas on the living room and kitchen. There are also areas on the kitchen floor where stain pooled.
    3. NKBA did not use the correct paint and/or properly prepare areas for painting as there is wide-spread peeling of the white paint on doors, shelves, and trim throughout the house.

I had a contract for this company to build a 2 story addition and the owner is no where to be contacted by his team. My home is left in pieces.
