I had to pay $503.80 out-of-pocket after a botched oil change performed at Jiffy Lube on ********************. Their negligence during the oil change led to excessive oil contamination that ultimately required me to have my O2 sensor replaced. My check engine light came on and my car was shaking immediately after this oil change (which took twice as long as it should have once they got startedmy first clue that something wasnt right).I returned the next day to this Jiffy Lube to have them double check everything as I knew it was no coincidence that my vehicle was shaking immediately after this oil change (the oil buildup from the contamination acted as a barrier, preventing the sensor from properly detecting oxygen levelswhich is what led to my check engine light and shaking car). The store refused to accept any responsibility, so I took my car to a Master Technician at Honest 1 ********* to diagnose the damage. There was clear oil contamination evidence (with several pictures/diagnostic report as evidence) that the damage was from this oil change. The Master Technician at Honest 1 ********* said they had tons of vehicles that came to them after botched oil changes/services from Jiffy Lube and that most people had to front the expense for repair and fight Jiffy Lube later for reimbursement. Many of Honest 1 ********* claimed they wound up paying thousands of dollars in repairs due to various missteps from Jiffy Lube. After two months of back-forth with the local GM (Destiny) and the warranty department rep ******* *****), Jiffy Lube refused to take any responsibility for the damage despite having a warranty that is supposed to cover issues like this. I am absolutely enraged that I trusted this stores technicians knew how to do a proper oil change without causing $503.80 damage to my vehicle and that I was forced to come out of pocket for immediate repairs to ensure my own safety while driving.

I took my truck to Jiffy Lube to have my brakes replaced. The manager said he could replace front and rear brakes including both front rotors for $500. I agreed and he took the truck into the stall for repairs. Shortly after leaving I noticed the front end was making a grinding noise that got worse when I turned corners. I also noticed the rear brakes were still grabbing when I applied the brakes. I brought the truck to a AAA service center to find out what was causing the noise. The mechanic found excessive play in bearings causing the rotor to touch the caliper bracket. He said the front wheel bearings were not installed correctly and had collapsed, parts were missing and the wrong parts were used when assembling the front brakes. He said I was lucky the wheel had not fallen off because parts were missing . Also, no work had been done on the rear brakes. As can be seen in the pictures taken by the AAA mechanic ( ************************ ) the pads are not new and are worn down to the rivets and the drums badly scarred. Damage to the front end of the truck cost $700 to repair and the total repair and replacement of the brakes cost $1795. I contacted the manager of Jiffy **** and told him what happened. He said they did not replace the front brakes only the rear. When I attempted to contact him later with more information he did not answer the phone. I tried calling several times but no one answered.

1/2/24 Amount Paid: ****** I entered the Jiffy Lube around 11 am for a routine oil change. The company insists they perform a Quality Inspection of the vehicle for every oil change. Not only was nothing mentioned about my battery, but no one even review the inspection with me. However, I received a paper report along with my receipt of the oil change following just a simple oil change and windshield wiper blade replacement, and it stated Battery Water Level required no maintenance. Following my payments of the oil change and wiper blade replacement, my car would not start up. My brake was not even able to be pressed down. They proceeded to tell me something was now wrong with my battery and it was completely dead. The vehicle is relatively new. We are the first owners of the vehicle and it is a 2022 model. Never have I had trouble starting the vehicle nor have I ever heard the engine struggle at all to start. Being that my vehicle was now stuck with a dead battery in a Jiffy Lube bay I had no choice but to replace the battery. I was given no explanation of what happened to my vehicle and was denied the possibility that something happened in the bay in order for the battery to completely go on me as the battery does not stay started while they do the oil change.

After investigating and doing my due diligence, I spoke with ******************, Regional VP at ACE Jiffy Lube. The following is ****'s explanation and reasoning:

After  reviewing the invoices, it seems that the customer was in for an oil change and beam style wiper blades (3).  That was the original bill.

When they went to restart the car after the oil change, the car would not start. That was when it was determined that the battery was bad and needed to be replaced. Most of today's batteries are maintenance free and do not require a top off. While the vehicle is only a couple of years old and only has ****** miles it is not unusual for a battery to need replacement at that point. Batteries in ******* typically last about two years. They also tend to fail without warning.  Second invoice was for the battery service.

    No refund is due.

    Thank you.
