1 star9/25/2023 – I came to the BBB to file a complaint. As it turns out, you cannot file a complaint if you are in litigation. A recent complaint filed w/the BBB dated 8/11/2023, indicates similar issues as I have been experiencing since Feb. 2022. During a kitchen remodel & installation of new tile floors, I moved out for 3 months. When I moved back, I saw tile that was not the tile I believed I purchased. In Oct. 2021, I went into the Stone-Mart store in St. Petersburg. As I approached the salesperson, I told him that I had been looking for over 2 months for white tile (with a matte finish) in 24 X 24 tiles. I dealt w/Stone-Mart 7 years ago when I purchased Travertine tiles for a previous home. Being a repeat customer, I felt comfortable with them. The salesperson took us to a display w/one 24 X 24 tile. I was excited, since it was exactly what I was looking for. I asked to take a 24 X 24 tile w/me to make sure it looked the same in the condo. The salesperson told us that we could not have a tile, even when I offered to pay for it. He said I will get you a sample you can take w/you. He came back w/a piece that was 4" X 4" & was identical to the display. Therefore, I would have no reason to believe that what I bought would be any different. The sample was the same & I thought my tile search was over. The tiles installed in my condo are full of large shell fossils, some more than 4 inches long. It is totally different from the display or sample. The salesperson should have given me 4/5 samples showing what I could expect to receive. Other displays had 4 or more pieces, showing what the finished floor might look like; however, that fact that they had one tile (& a matching sample) was misrepresentative. My attorney sent letters to the Owner requesting a meeting at my condo (w/his attorney) to try and work this out before litigation. They did not even respond to his letters. After 2 years, I felt it necessary to let prospective Buyers know.Review fromDonna W

5 starsI've been a Stone-Ma ver the years in my capacity. I must say that working with **************************************** is an absolute pleasure. She is always the friendly voice when I have to call her with a strange question or while I have a customer that needs an answer in our showroom. She knows her products extremely well and all the varieties, variations, and sizes. And when I email her a request for a quote I can expect it back in mere minutes instead of the hours it used to take. She makes the entire process so much easier.
