CB Roofing replaced our original roof on 10/1/2020, and we have had nothing but problems in a particular area which has been repaired 10 times. As recently as 3/17/25 the roof leaked again. I reported it that same day and was told I'd get a call back from the production manager in ***** hours. Still no call back. CB Roofing has not delivered a watertight roof as completion of the original re-roof contract. I need them to identify the source of the problem, make a correct and permanent repair to include any interior repairs needed due to the leaks. Once they deliver a watertight roof, the workmanship warranty should be extended accordingly.Business Response

We are currently working on finding a permanent solution to the problem area. We are doing water tests to confirm the actual leak issue. We will also take care of the interior repairs.Initial Complaint

I had my roof installed last year in July. After the roof was installed our vinyl siding looked terrible. The company used my vinyl siding to tuck the new metal tile turn up underneath as a way to seal the exposed tiles. When we removed the vinyl siding because it was peeling off, we realized that the tiles were exposed and not sealed properly with flashing on top of the tile turn up like in the diagram of job #*****. I reached out to many roofing companies and they advised the job was not done correctly. CB Roofing even sent me a picture with my job number depicting that the tile turn up should be sealed with flashing but that it not what truly happened in my case. If you compare the diagram to the job that was completed. The tile turn up should have flashing, then it has building paper then thats when my vinyl siding would be placed over top those two layers. Its fraud to depict my job as so when it was not installed that way. I should be able to remove my vinyl siding that I purchased not from this company and it should not interfere with the installation of a brand new roof. First they said they would install it at no charge then he said they would charge me $1500, then that he would only charge $165 for materials and now lastly that he would charge $200 service fee. In my contract it states I have a 5 year workmanship warranty to cover any issues associated with the installation of the roof. This falls well within the scope of issues with the installation. I did not do anything with the actual roof, I removed the vinyl siding connected to the wall, that eventually needed to be removed because it was damaged with the installation of the roof.Business Response

We have attached files showing standard practices for installing vinyl by ************************** showing wall flashing installed under the siding and on top of the roofing underlayment. We uploaded a photo showing the wall flashing on this project under the original siding and on top of the underlayment. We have also uploaded a picture of the metal roof being turned up the wall to create a second wall flashing and extending under the vinyl siding. This is also a standard practice with stone coated metal panels. We have uploaded a photo showing the vinyl siding over the metal roof side wall flashing. We have also upload our contract with the customer and highlighted the important items that relate to this project. When we finished the project the roof and siding were in a good condition and passed all state and county inspections and codes. The customer at a later date removed the vinyl siding and wanted us to install a counter flashing. Originally our production manager said we would install it for her as it was just once section and he was trying to help a customer out. ******** then changed her mind and wanted all the walls on her house re-flashed and house wrap installed. She wanted us to do all this for free. Our production manager still gave her a deal by requesting that she pay for the material and he was still going to send our guys out to install the extra flashing. The details our manager sent of flashing is general flashing details that he was trying to show her that it was done to a standard. This roof has two flashings on it to stop water.
We have emails before the project started that the vinyl siding might not work and customer said to go ahead with the install. The siding did work and no extra work needed to be done at the time of the installation. Customer has now removed the siding that was over the metal flashing and wants us to pay for extra work to be done that they caused. Customer needs to install new siding where they removed their siding. Our contract is very clear that any work done on the roof that is not approved by us voids our warranty. This is not really a warranty issue since the customer removed all their siding.

I am rejecting this response because:
Sincerely,
*****************I had already paid over $2200.00. I called them back and their response was to send me another email with a $1200.00 discount. I am a senior citizen and feel that I have been deceived and taken advantage of. The repair that they have done to my roof has defaced the look of my home. My request is to have them repair it correctly that should have been done in the beginning and remove all the tape they put on my roof.Business Response

Customer had leaks in his house. We were shown the leaks and identified the issue. During our inspections we found a flashing issue at the ducts ***** locations on his roof. We saw a previous repair done on the dutch ***** that looked normal and good. We presented a similar repair using a product called Wakaflex. Wakaflex is an approved product in ******* used for flashing details that are not smooth and uneven. It is a superior product that is widely used in the roofing industry by professionals. We fixed the leaks and customer paid. Customer called our office complaining that the *** did not like the black Wakaflex. We do not include painting in our quotes as we are roofers and not painters. To help the customer out, we had our repair team go back to the house free of charge and paint the Wakaflex a terra-cotta color to match the tile. Our service writer had shown the customer what the Wakaflex looked like and even took a picture of the house and drew on it showing him the repair option. Customer also had a similar repair done previously that had been painted so he understood what he was getting. The customer now wants us to remove the tile and replace the tile. We offered a new contract with the new work requested but the customer wants this work done for free. Even with this new work the customer wants, which is not necessary as the leaks have stopped he will still have the Wakaflex flashing on top of his tile. Flashing is designed to keep water on top of the roof to direct water off the roof.
In conclusion we performed the scope of work that the customer signed off on and he paid his bill in full. He now wants a new contract for a different scope of work but does not want to pay for it.Initial Complaint

New roof was installed last Monday I paid half upfront. They left holes in my roof, I told them and they came out to fix.... put one tube of caulk, did not fix holes or damaged wood... I assume flashing is missing since I can see daylight. They are requesting payment of the final half while holes are still in *******.Business Response

We went out to investigate the customers concern. We found the holes the customer was concerned about were normal holes that are necessary, the holes were for the dryer vents, regular vents and bathroom vents. These vents do allow light into the attic when it is sunny outside. We found no other issues when we were onsite.Initial Complaint

CB Roofing put a new metal roof on in Feb. I noticed the roof would leak in the bathroom when it rained near the vent and there was water on the bathroom ceiling. I called in June and they said they would call me back to schedule a repair but they never did. I sent them an email 3 weeks ago. They still have not come to fix the roof. I now have black mold growing on the ceiling. They did not show up today even though I called and was told they are in their way.Business Response

We are so very sorry for all the confusion and our lack of communication. We are currently working on the repairs.
