On or about 09/06/2024, I contacted the company in order to obtain a "Set of Design Plans both ************************ Engineering Drawings), in order for me to submit it to ************** to obtain a Residential permit. They responded strongly affirming that they can conduct both, but in order to get started, they would have to charge me for a site visit (inspection) and Damage Assessment Report. On 09/17/2024, I paid them $1150.00 for both the inspection ($900.00) and Damage Assessment Report ($250.00), in which they sent a "Student Intern" to my home on 09/23/2024 to conduct their inspection. My expectation that they would provide me with the Damage Assessment Report and the Cost for the Set of Design Plans ************************) within a week or so, as this is a very simple task to perform. However, until today, I did NOT receive a response from them. I attempted to contact Mr. ******* ******** "Engineering Intern" (License #*********** who was assigned my project and communicating with me from the beginning, three times during a week long, but he never responded to me. Thus, on or about 10/23/2024, I contacted the office and requested to talk to the principle (owner) in order to peacefully resolve the matter with them, in which they provided me with the email of Mr. ****** **** ***** Professional Engineer (License #******. I sent an email to Mr. ***** but I never received a response.

    Business Response

    Date: 11/25/2024

I received notice of your complaint to the Better Business Bureau. As you may be aware, the area was inundated with a couple storm events that displaced some employees for the first storm and most employees for the second storm. These evacuations and mandatory office closings did have a significant impact on the schedule of our existing jobs.

With regard to the student intern investigating the damage to your property, that is standard practice. These engineering students are trained to take measurements and document conditions with photographs that is then shared with the Project Manager. This allows our engineers to stay in office complete the necessary engineering work. Futhermore, ******* has passed the ** Exam and is in the process of obtaining his ** license. He currently works under the supervision of myself and *** Belt. He is capable to handle your project.

I do apologize for not directly responding to your email. The information you were requesting needed to come from *******. I asked him to respond and he advised a phone call was made with no answer. More could have been done to follow up.

As I understand, you have cancelled payment for the services we have provided and as such, have cancelled your project. At this time, there is no payment to refund. We wish you the best as you move forward with your repair. We understand how stressful managing that type of repair can be.
