    It is hard to know where to begin. I contacted Mr. Handyman to do some baseboard work at our house. We had some water intrusion that caused our wooden baseboards to swell and they needed to be re-attached to the wall. Its something we have done before but I was hoping to hire professionals to do the job so I didnt have to. The tech that came out was very nice, but the job done was poor- worse than what I did and took a very long time. After FOUR HOURS and only 2 pieces of baseboard re-attached (out of 5 areas) I told him to stop. It did not look good and it was taking an excessively long time at $150/hr. At this rate this simple task would be a $1500+ job, which is absurd. They sent a second technician out to the house to look at the job who said he could make it look better and came up with a game plan, but again this is going to be a $1500+ job for less than 50 feet of baseboard. I could hire a carpenter to do it for far less and certainly better. I told him we would think about it, then fixed the job myself that afternoon. We were sent an invoice for $750 for the 4 hours of "work" and called to discuss it. We were willing to pay something but this is an outrageous amount for what was done and they are true hourly employees- very, very slow. When we called to talk with someone about it we were met with immedaite hostility and threats. This company is a joke. Beware and absolutely do not hire for your jobs. Find someone who does the area of work you are needing to get a better job for far less money. I could have probably had a general contractor come out, hire a sub, and get he job done given the scope of work and the cost incurred. It at least would have been done better.
