I went in to buy a truck listed on Pat Fisher's Web site for $23,500. The listing says it has a clean car fax, but I was told by the salesman that the truck was previously owned by an employees son, and was involved in an accident where he had jack-knifed a trailer, resulting in costly repairs. My father asked the salesman how it was listed as a clean ******, and the salesman told us there were ways to get around ******, like not reporting an accident to your insurance company and making repairs before reselling. I still took it on a test drive, and decided I would still trade in for it. The salesman "ran the numbers" and I somehow didn't qualify. I only came in for the truck, he tried to talk me into an SUV, I ended up taking six hard hits to my credit that I am aware of. My father was asked to co-sign with me, he took eleven hits to his credit (life lock called him after we left the dealership because they suspected fraud). When I went to leave I asked "just how much is added on to the listed price in fees?" I was expecting no more than $3,000 tops. At this point the salesman told me they decided to raise the price of the truck 'this morning' on the truck in question. He didn't tell me untill after all was said and done. To this moment, the truck is still listed online for the original $23,500 price. I had cancer, I worked hard during my recovery to keep my credit good, I worked hard to build it once my cancer recovery was done. Taking hard hits to my credit like that is a hard blow to my confidence in ever dealing with credit again. I appreciate that the salesman was honest with me about the accident the truck was in, but upset that they made repairs and decided to raise the price just for me because the truck was in better shape than when I called to make the appointment. As I was leaving, I once again shoved my dad's wheelchair into the trunk of my car and tied it closed, we were both heart broken that they had deceived me with a false listing price, and lies.
